played nonstop resi 4 when it came out for ps2, and hammered we <3 katamari a few months later. Had way too much uni work to do it more recently, and my seating setup was ****e for gaming in my old flat. Place im moving into this year has a sofa and room to move though, so i should be able to get some solid sessions in at least before term starts.

I REALLY want to go at it with bioshock tomorrow, but my parents are spoilsports so ill prolly hear lip about it- still, its a friday night and they should be out on the town, giving me from 8pm or so to the early hours to wander round rapture undisturbed.

Done quite a few in my time but only on a couple of games. Namely Goldeneye an Perfect Dark, massive multiplayer sessions and I've had work the next day. Back in my student days for sure. Although they are long behind me now and haven't done any for a while.

back in the pc Duke Nukem 3D and Q3, Command and Conquer Days I remember doing a Thursday Evening till Sunday Afternoon Session, I drank a crate and half of a energy drink called TNT, 4 litres of cherry coke, 4 cheese burgers and a multi pack of monster munch.. Eyes felt like they couldnt close afterwards.. Agony
I even used to have a toaster on my pc desk in the PC FPS days from 1999 to 2003 era so i could make toast and play so i didnt have to miss a level played... toast crumbs everywhere.

Nowadays i have the fianance living with me but i still like to put some hardcore time in at weekends if shes not about, usually from friday night 7pm onwards once the puppy has been walked and fed till sunday morning around 9am, ill sleep till 1/2pm, then go pick her up from her mums..

Always regret it on the monday as i feel like death and havent had a weekend.

You cant beat them tho, i have a long one planned for tomorrow as I finish work at 1pm.. God I love bank holiday weekends

LOLz a mate used to have a toaster sat next to his Megadrive so that when we had our 16 man European Club Striker tournaments each weekend we didn't have to move an inch.

We also used to bring our 20p 2L bottles of cola/lemonade round - good ol days.

Ah, all nighters. I remember my mate had his own gaming shed - no lie. It had mains sockets to run the amiga off of and it had carpet and everything. He also had a C64, (skate or die with every ****ty joystick you can find to try and get a new high jump record, and the epyx summer/winter games... oh, happy days!). I remember staying over playing more or less every game we had. Xenon 2, Starglider, etc., then by the early hours we were even onto that motorbike game that was sponsored by Skips crisps. Anyway, that would have been the first all nighter.

Been a few since, notably the day we got Gran Turismo on Playstation. We used to have a games night every Monday, and that Monday lasted until the sun was showing under the curtains. It must have been 5am on Tuesday morning. Unfortunate really, as we had to be at work at 9am...

Last almost all nighter would have been last christmas when my mate got his 360 and Gears of War. We went through the whole of co-op Hardcore starting at 8pm, finishing at 4am I think. At that point I was 30yo and a dad, rock on!

I think the next one will be when GT5, or prologue hits. An 8pm-8am session should rightly see it in

I had this on the c64, was the first commodore game i had apart from the free football cart game that came with the computer at the time

Id love to play action biker again, i remember always having probs collecting the gubbins on the rollercoaster tracks.

              happy days

I been doing all-nighters for the last few days on Bioshock In the past all nighter have been done for games like Halo 2 (online) and all the GTA's especially Vice City. I remember when I got that and went home, played it without food or water and still went to college the next day! Ahhhh memories!

Too old for serious all-nighter's now, hehe

In my yoof, I remember a few 5am weekend sessions with a mate of mine playing through Phantasy Star II on the Megadrive (Genesis version, IIRC, had a nice little book with maps etc which I think the PAL one did not?).

Nearest I've come since is when playing City of Heroes and pulled a few 6pm-3am shifts on odd occasions where my wife was away visiting her folks. As I think someone said about WoW earlier... dunno why I was doing that, since I was not enjoying it at all towards the end. Wonderful thing, an MMO habit ....

These days, playing Eledees at 4.30am does not count as an all-nighter, cos that's me up early with my darling baby daughter, bless her

dont often do all nighters but im often up for a very-late-nighter. twilight princess was probably my most recent sleep sucker and i regret finishing it so quickly now.

best fun i can remember though was pokemon silver at rediculous hours of the morning. couldnt get enough of that game back in the day

Footbal Manager (or whatever it was called) - ZX Spectrum in 1981 (or 82'). Played all night went to work, came home and played until about midnight. Was totally knackered.

Only one after that was Super Metroid on the Super Famicom. Nealry caused a divorce that one!

Ive done this loads on a regular basis as I dont work and hardly sleep anyway due to pain etc.. I think my last major consistent one was EQ2 on PC I remember playing it all night on christmas day morning (I was seriously addicted to that game for awhile) and then being unconcious from 2pm onwards as Id burnt myself out playing it that week, next thing I knew it was 10pm and my parents where saying are you getting up to open your presents

I used to go to a computer club in York also many years ago (Guppys if anyone was around in late 80s-early 90s) every Friday night in my mid teens and we used to take computers etc.. and make a night of it afterwards on link up. Had some stunning Doom nights on LAN back in the 90s as well and of course remember doing same on Stunt Car Racer linked on Amigas and SF2 on JPN Snes. Also used to do it on my night shift rotation when I worked I would spend my Saturday night gaming instead

My Dad converted our garage into a recording studio years ago before I was born. When he divorced my Mum I converted it into a gaming room. Windowless room, multiple tv?s (two to be exact and one was quite small) and limited sound proofing meant great months for the few months it lasted until my Sister and her family had to move back in for a few years.

As for all nighters, anyone who knows me will know that sticking on a civilization type game means instant all nighter unless I muster all my will power to stop it. I don?t feel fatigue or sense the passage of time when playing these games and just this week stayed up till 4am playing a co-op game of AC: Alien Crossfire with my brother. This game has such a hold over me that even with having just brought Bioshock yesterday, it still competes with my time.

For Non-Civ like games the dreamcast saw the most all nighter sessions, the most memorable being what me and my friends refer to as Power Stone night, when a bunch of us just played all night under the winner stays on rules. It was one time when we were all fairly evenly matched and each of us had our winning streaks. Similar nights with Goldeneye and Perfect Dark were also common, and although Soul Calibur was played more, we never had an all nighter with it.

Single player games that I?ve done all nighters with were Oblivion, Jade Empire and Star Wars KOTOR. I don?t think I can pull off a non-civ all nighter again as fatigue always get the better of me these days. The only reason I pulled it off with Oblivion was that I was so absorbed into finding a cure for vampirism I never noticed the actual sun coming up.

****e. I know I've had some all nighters, but can't remember any of the games, certainly would have been in the Megadrive era though, and also when I had a Commodore Plus 4 ('Treasure Island' would have been one).

I'd probably pull one nowadays, but the combination of age and drink mean that I'd pass out half way through. I also seem to get throbbing headaches if I have extended game play sessions (recovering from my knee op and playing games 8-9 hours a day for instance).

I could never do an all nighter at winter time as a kid, as the bedroom was so bleedin' cold it would get to the point where I couldn't feel my fingers.
