    GamesTM Issue 61

    Bioshock - 10
Medal of Honor Airborne - 8
    Blazing Angels 2 - 6
    Heavenly Sword - 6
    Forever Blue - 6
    Worms OW2 - 8
    Obscure 2 - 6
    Stuntman Ignition - 7
    Madden 08 - 8
    Dead n Furious - 3
    Dewy's Adventure - 7

They also have Warhawk in their Online Roundup section, so I'm assuming it wont be getting a standard review:

    Warhawk - 4/5

Theres a nice big feature on Halo 3 spanning almost a dozen pages or so to get us all excited.

any chance of a brief summary of the heavenly sword review?

i'm surprised by the low scores this is getting.

i'm worried that reviewers are once again proving that they can't do their jobs properly and are marking it down because it doesn't do much new despite it being a pretty good game

Let's face it, the bulk of the review scores for HS would probably consider the in-game visuals as it's strongest point - surely that means the gameplay and story which I thought would have been quite well done would end up being ripped to shreds.

Ok, so we've seen the 3rd person hack/button masher time after time, and the underlying elements of the story don't sound that original, but 6s/5s across the board? Overly harsh I think.

Once again no suprise at the average score for HS as its an average looking game.

Nice to see MoH getting another good review, really getting far to tempting to buy it even tho i really shouldnt becuase ive so much to get through anyway.

They say it is a lovely looking game which has a very good combat system. To quote the review....

              ....on the graphics
unsprisingly its beauty is obvious from the outset. True the actual in-game looks leave you slightly disappointed but only in comparison to the cut-scenes.
              ....on the combat
disposing of foes quickly turns into a ballet with a bit of experimentation
They go on to say that the game is really short and can be done in 7 hours and that it is not much of a challenge. Also they point out that the sixaxis motion control stuff for doing certain things isn't done well and you lose your immersion in the game. Hmm I thought you could turn the motion control stuff off if you wanted to, I remember I did in the demo. The reviewer finishes by saying that its a title that has been hampered by its own hype and point out it is a decent game but "Sony isn't currently in a climate where few errors made will go unnoticed".

Without having played the (full) game, you can't possibly make a judgement. But of course, you will anyway.

Having watched videos and read the Edge review, I can see where they are coming from. Gameplay (fighting) = fun, visuals = lush, acting and story = well done; Gameplay (projectile) = eventually tedious, despite being fun the first few times.

The projectile aiming stuff does look like it detracts from the whole, enough to potentially ruin the overall experience. I was thinking that HS might finally be the reason to get a PS3 but I think I'll wait until November and get Haze and Uncharted, if they stand up to scrutiny.

There are so many AAA games to play, I can wait.

I'll probably still pick up HS at some point though, I should imagine, so I can judge for myself.

I must admit, I'm more intersted in the "reviews" that I'll get from the first play thread on here. I do expect to eventually pick it up though.

I'm hoping the puzzle-based motion control sections are fairly sparse throughout the game (Like no more than 5/10&#37, in which case I can live with that. There aren't many games, even those that I love dearly, that don't have parts within them that I really wish weren't there.

Is the Worms review for the DS version? Maybe there is only a DS version...

                        Can anyone add the formats?

I think it's just the PSP one so far, bought that last friday.

Ok, so there's a DS version too - still, I'd go with PSP. They made a right mess of the DS version with the first OW.

New one is far, far better and made internally by Team 17.
