Anyone buying a 360 for Halo 3?

I'd get one for Fable 2, Allan Wake, Mass Effect and XBLA but definitely not for Halo 3.

I play FPS games more for the single player mode which I didn't particularly enjoy in the 1st two Halos. Halo 3's is supposedly really short and not a lot better and I've never really liked the look of the game, the characters or the story. I'm not that competitive when it comes to FPS games so I prefer something a bit more casual or innovative in multiplayer mode. As far as deep skill based multiplayer games are concerned VF is my main game. The 360 version of VF5 has additional content which is another game that would encourage me to get a 360.

Don't have a 360 (yet), but I'm thinking of getting one early next year sometime. Mainly for Halo 3 and possibly Assassin's Creed, plus whatever's on the horizon (Alan Wake etc). Not all that interested in anything else that's out for it at the mo. GoW doesn't really do it for me and I could play Oblivion on my PC if I really wanted. Dead Rising looks like jolly good fun, but it's not something I'd get a system for.

I'm hoping to pick up Sega Rally and VT3 for now. Not sure if I'll bother with Halo 3 - not my sort of game really.

I will eventually. The 'Falcon' hardware is starting to filter through so once I can get a confirmed Falcon-system I'll buy.

Yeah - I did... well kinda. It wasnt the sole reason, but untill Bioshock/Halo 3 came out there were not enough good games to warrent the cost of a 360. Now with the slew of great titles coming this year (and 1st half of next year), it felt like a good time to pick up the machine.

Two friends of mine just got 360s for halo. One of them hasn't had a console since the snes. The other was a playstation man, but Live integration persuaded him to go for the 360 and wait for a ps3 pricedrop.

He didn't know about it when he purchased the 360. I doubt he's heard the announcement yet either. I imagine if it had been available before his purchase it would have been a definite possibility. He was quite hesitant about the 360 purchase, but went with it because everyone else had and the also the Halo hype.
