Saurian modded my xbox for me last week and out of all the mods I've ever had done I've never seen a cleaner job. Insulated wiring, fixed and secure switch and so perfect looking that you would think a machine soldered my chip in place
Oh and Saur mate sorry I did not bring the box over this week but I've only just got back from Germany. Also I'm now going to Japan tomorrow afternoon but I'll be back on Monday/Tuesday. So I'll catch up with you then.
Sorry to all for using forum as a personal meeage board.

Well Madeira Games modded my DC with no problems.
they also modded my PS2 with an Origachip (in the days before the Messiah), it cost me ?85 even though I provided the chip myself. The PS2 has since stopped working. Which is most annoying as it is a PAl machine and I live in Japan now. The PS2 still boots PAL games, but only from standby??
Is there any hope Saurian? I'm coming back to England next week.

No chance with the PS2 I'm afraid (it's been touched by others) it's much better to work with fresh solder points and a later revision of PS2. PM me and I'll give you some information that will help you loads.

Do you recommend any sites particularly for information about 'retro' mods?

After reading some of these stories I was a bit reluctant to open up my Xbox, fearing what would be within.
But I'm glad I did. It's such a neat and tidy job that if it weren't for the wires going to the toggle switch (which didn't mutilate the casing - it sits on the front vents) and Xecuter Lite written on the back of the chip, I'd not have even known it was there. Quality insulated wire and properly secured chip mean I have no hesitation in recommending www.baldbouncer.co.uk to you guys.

I do my own mods too.
My first was a Saturn. I had teething problems tho.
Took me a while to get it just right.
I had to basically work it all out myself.
Loved the Xbox mod.
So clean and tidy.
Megadrive was nice and simple, and SNES was pretty cool too.
I had problems with PSone.
I ordered a OneChip off a website for my US PSone.
"works on all models/regions of PSone"
Installed, very tidy.
Wouldn't boot games, but played Audio CDs.
Removed.
Dead PSone.
Tried again on a SECOND US PSone.
Same thing happened.
So I emailed the site I got it from.
Told them their chip was pretty awful.
They said "it's for PAL systems only"
Wasn't pleased with that.
I have an NCS cube.
I know it's one of the rubbish mods
Burai had probs with the RGB lead before I bought it from him.
Because of the ****ty lazy mod, it only ran in JAP when Digi Out was used.
I knew straight away what the cause was when he mentioned the prob.
NCS had diagrams of their mod, using a lazy method. It was soon pulled off their site.
I had always meant to fix it.
But now that I know that it's NCS doing the bare wire stuff, I'm pretty pissed.
I've ordered a gamebit and am gonna fix it asap.
