I believe SVC and KOF2003 work, but you have to dump the GFX files (which the emulator often does automatically, but sometimes you have to do it yourself).

I've not tried either of them yet, though. Garou is the biggest NG games I've got working so far.

Duddy can the f200 use SDHC cards?

I saw on the specs it takes SDHC. I just folded and bought one off ebay. Paid 109 for the F200 and the cradle. That Marvel Vs Capcom vid was the final straw. Off to get my parrot and wooden leg sorted now

You answered your own question there, but yeah, it can take SDHC cards. It supports up to 32GB, I believe.

          I've just ordered a 4GB one off Play.com - £12.99! Bargain.

          Here's some more vids:

Garou: Mark of the Wolves (Gameplay)

          DoDonPachi

          F-Zero

          King of Fighters 98

          Metal Slug X

I managed to pick up an energizer charger which came with 4 x 2500 batteries half price at a tenner. Hoping these are ok for it when it comes.
I downloaded the Finalburn EMU from GP32.com but the readme doesnt have any info on installation. Do I just drop the files from the zip in the root of the SD and then create a folder for the roms named "ROM"?

              That charger sounds fine mate

There's no installation involved with any of the emulators on the GP2X, it's just drag and drop. You will have to unzip the emulators obviously.

With Final Burn you just pop the ROMS in the ROMS folder like you say. It will play zipped ROMS, as most emulators do.

My GP2X and cradle turned up this morning! Filling an SD card with my SNES, MD and some NeoGeo roms to give it a test drive.

I saw an earlier reference in this thread to the JXD301. I got one of these over xmas and was initially very impressed by it. Its video and music performance is v v good, and having 2gig on board is nice. The EMUs initially had me impressed too but the more time I spent with it the less I was impressed. The controls are a bit wonky at times and sometimes button presses are not reckongnised. Metal Slug 1 and 2 play fine with sound on which I was impressed by but the romset I obtained (which seems to be the only one available) is very limited. I think it cant emulate Metal Slug 3 onwards and the Neo Geo roms seem to be a unique build so all the ones i have on my PC wont work, only these specific .NEO extension roms. Nice machine to have in your pocket though. I will post a comparison with the GPX2 when I have had chance to give it a test drive
Edit: I forgot to mention the main reason I fell out with the JXD was I ordered some SD cards from Play.com and none of them were reckonised. Hoping the GP2X recognises them!!!

This is worth getting for Snatcher alone then!

Does this device use then Gens emulator? Or something else?

Could you post a pic of Snatcher on it please

Ok I have had a play with the GP2X now and I am impressed.

The Megadrive EMU is perfect as far as I can, sound or no sound it seems to run everything I throw at it. SNES works great too. Tried my fav SNES game Cybernator and its fantastic.

Not so much joy with the FinalBurn or NeoGeo emus though. FB runs AVP and CPS1 roms I tried great but it wont load Marvel Super Heroes or Marvel Vs Capcom. Duddy how did you get MvC working? I searched GP32.com for help but no joy. On the Neo Geo I tried Metal Slugs 1-4 but only 1 and 2 worked.

Overall a big thumbs up from me

uA_ - I'll try and get some video footage and photos of Snatcher in action online at some point!

Dave - Glad to hear you're enjoying the GP2X! I don't use FBA for CPS2 emulation, I use the dedicated CPS2 emulator, found here.

To be honest FBA isn't 100% there as yet - the dream is to get it running NeoGeo, CPS1, CPS2 and all the other arcades games, but it's not quite there yet. In my opinion the dedicated NeoGeo and CPS2 emulators are much better, and even MAME on the GP2X runs stuff with better sound if you ask me.

Any more questions, give me a shout!

Cheers for the info on that CPS2 emu duddy. I hadnt seen that when i was looking for downloads. The Gp32X site is a bit of a mare to navigate in the downloads section! The more time I spend with this machine the more I love it. Huge improvement on that first gen one I had. My psp and ds may never see the light of day again

LOL, my PSP, DS, Wii and 360 are all losing out to the GP2X at the moment!

Duddy have you tried doom or quake yet and if so what are your impressions.

I am tempted to get one of these but i would use it mainly in my works van whilst i am supposedly working.A car charger would be ideal so has anyone found one that works on the f200.

I've not tried Doom or Quake yet, I believe Doom runs like a dream though!

I managed to get all the CPS2 Capcom fighters up and running. Really nice to have all those on the go. I cant wait to plug into the cradle and try them on a tv with my pads
