Hellgate London - Demo This Week

My very quick impressions: It's Diablo 3D in all but name. The demo was okay but my pc really isn't up to it anymore and so I'm gonna pass on this until maybe I can find it cheaper or I've got myself a better PC. I suspect if more diablo-style gaming is what you're expecting you'll probably love this.

Exactly right. I played it for a few hours last night and its pretty much identical to Diablo right down to the leveling and skill trees, huge range of weapons and armors, item modifications, portals and well pretty much everything. Which is fine by me because thats exactly what i was expecting.

Dont expect anything really new, fresh or revolutionary here because you wont find it, but that doesnt make it a bad game oh no imo its what makes it good. The Dev's knew what they wanted to make and thats what they have done, an old fashioned hack n slash.

I thought the game was first person view, but you guys are saying Diablo Ii....which was firmly isometric 3rd person? Does Hellgate have a playable 3rd person view?

God damn Virgin F*****G broadband are throttling my connection AGAIN. I cant even download a bloody demo now without my speed being cut in half.

I know how you feel m8 but the cheeky C***s wont cut our monthly subscription by half though..Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Yes it has a traditional 3rd person view and you can also zoom the 3rd person view way out so its almost the traditional Diablo top down view.

Downloaded the rascal this evening and it sure does have that diablo hook. Only drawback for me atm is the very small levels I've seen so far. Not too shabby at all though.

Been playing the Multiplayer Beta the past couple of days and they still have a lot of DX10 optimization to do, the performance is pretty bad. T
he first two BSoD's i've ever experienced with Vista have been in the past few days playing Hellgate. However they have said that the current build we're using is about a month behind what they have internally, so hopefully when they release the new build things will smooth out.

Aside from the performance and BSoD's though the game is pretty fun, I dont think I can see me paying a subscription for the Multiplayer part however.

Anyone know what the damn Screenshot button is? I looked in the controls section but couldnt see it and i've tried all the "usual"'s.

well performance wise will run well on my machine its xp though

think i might give vista a try but will wait for another month or so and have a dual boot system

as far as this game goes think it is a bit of cheek you have to pay for the better stuff though in multiplayer

Orgun they made an announcement saying that DX10 implementation would be much better for the retail release, thats why they didnt even bother including DX10 in the demo.

Looking back on it I was far to excited about this game which ended up failing in SPECTACULAR fashion. Anyway for the 1 person in the world that might be interested its actually being brought back as a F2P game by the Korean company Hanbitsoft.

heard a redone version of this game was released in asia ages ago (with new addons hellgate tokyo) not sure when the western version will be released
