    QUOTE]

Sometimes you're just not in the frame of mind for gaming. That's just how it is.

About 4 months ago, I was off work for about a month and a half (I posted a thread about it if anyone remembers...). I'd just come out of hospital and had PLENTY of time for gaming, but I just didn't feel like it. It had nothing to do with me being ill, I just couldn't be arsed to play anything. So I didn't.

(It's probably just as well, too as I used the time to make some of the best tracks I've made in a long time!).

Not feeling like doing stuff sometimes is part of being human.

This is just a mood thing isn't it. You should never force yourself to do something you're not in the mood for unless money's involved.

Just turn off the console and go do something else.

I got so infuriated with CoD2 on Veteran I headnutted the pad and destroyed it (I did a similar thing back in the day with Halo on Legendary).

I had two red thumbstick marks on my forehead for ages.

I used to just get irritated because I had too many games, I'd start playing one, get annoyed with it then start playing a different one instead.

Cutting down my collection was definately the best thing I ever did (even though posting them all away was gutting)

I do get much more easily annoyed now at the things that have always annoyed me about specific games. If I see bad, inexplicable or even just missed opportunities in gameplay I do get (verbally) angry. I really object to the fact that my enjoyment is being compromised unnecessarily, even if rarely ruined, by what I see as simply poor design decisions.

I'm also a lot less tolerant of unfair, manipulated or crude AI, bad cameras, and my particular pet hate: slowdown. In these circumstance the developers come in for every term of abuse I can think of.

I play using headphones at night so heaven knows what my neighbours think when they hear such a string of obscenities coming out of the blue through the walls at 3 am.

I'd imagine it's a problem easily exacerbated by "score-whore syndrome" whereby people are looking to get achievements every single time they switch on a 360 - I'd imagine it could easily manifest itself over time until, like smack, you "need that fix NOW" and get very irritable without it.

Could be a problem for some......

I got a pretty low-tolerance for frustration, so generally the air gets turned blue anytime of the day/night if I'm on, doesn't matter what game generally. Although PES5 disc on XBox was ejected from the breeze-block and thrown with such force it split into two against my folks wall.

I was doing some mad swearing at Halo3 last night now you mention it - in retrospect it was all anger at my own stupidity at losing a few daft kills to some noobs.

I usually go through phases where if I've got any spare time I'll want to be playing games and I'll put in some good long sessions every day for a few weeks.

Then there are other times (like right now) when I just can't be arsed to play. It's not a lack of quality games either, I just got Orange Box and PGR4, but since I just look at the 360 and think "I'll think I'll play... ah bugger, can't be bothered!".

By this time next week my mood will be different and I'll be running through City 17 for hours on end, with no logical explanation for why my mood has changed! Tis the human condition and all that.

Don't usually get too frustrated in individual games though, if I start getting pissed off I usually switch off before I can go too nuts

I will admit i have not been playing much, and as a result i do feel a bit guilty about it given the money i spend on this 'hobby' in terms of frustration, it just infuriates me when i just want to sit down a play a nice game of anything and find loading time gets in the way, why cant games just start quicker, instead of having so many advert/logos pop up and then go through menus and menus of loading save, etc........ Makes you lose interest SO DAMN QUICKLY!

on a seperate note Bleeders and Human Energy, whats the deal with the old man in yah avatars?? And Yoshimax, is it me or are your avatars getting more and more uglier with each change?

I got this a lot towards the end of the PS2's lifespan and the first six months of the 360. This year has been a lot better than the last though with regards to being able to keep my attention on one game at one time.
