For me it's TimeSplitters. All of them.
What makes it worse is that I know how AWESOME those games are. Can't play them at all though. I remember getting a PS2 at launch (or there abouts) and a copy of TS1. Played for about 30 minutes MARVELLED at the fact you could smash plates, then felt awful bilious and had to lie down for 10 minutes.
    Ell, Oh, Ell.

I got slight motion sickness when I was younger but I grew out of it thankfully.

Something that worked for me that you might want to try is one of those acupressure wristbands for travel sickness. They're only a few quid from a chemist and they let me play without any ill-effects whatsoever. It has to be worth a crack if it's becoming a serious problem for you.

I've already tried them - well, it was about 7 years ago last time I tried them, didn't work, guess they could be worth another go though....

TimeSplitters, that's another one! Thing is, you're playing a good game, and think "10 more minutes let's see how I feel then". 10 minutes go by, and you can be on the verge of puking. Strangely, when you then stop playing, you actually feel worse.

Whoile im lucky enough to never get it I would imagine PC games give you worse motion sickness becuase you are really close to the screen.

The reason console games give you it more than others is probabaly down to the veiwpoint and the effects. Gears of War isnt a FPS but I can imagine it giving someone motion sickness when you run really fast and the screen goes all blurry and shacky for instance.

same here. everything else i'm fine - Quake, HL2, Halo etc. but TimeSplitters gives me the boke something awful.

i put it down to the crosshair moving independently of where you are looking - it's the continual changing of my focus from the target to the surroundings to the enemies that gives me the dizzy.

I get motion sickness, but its usually down to too much alcohol the night before. I did get it with timesplitters 3 without ale and i remember people selling it at the time on this forum, were selling it for that reason.

TBH, jimmbob, you're not missing too much, the TS games are footbath-shallow, and entirely overrated.

I'm kind of wishing I felt some physical feeling when I play FPSes nowadays because they don't excite me anymore. They feel dead and bland. I'm starting to see motion sickness as a positive, it gets you involved in the game (however nauseating it may seem.)

I've never experienced motion sickness with games but I've known a few people who got it really bad.

One problem I did have back in the 32-bit gaming days was severe headaches with many 3D games. I never fully found out for sure why but my theory was that my eyes were trying to focus and the graphics just weren't good enough to give me a clear picture. Bad eye strain. Hasn't been a problem in years but I got it again going back to SH1.

Glad I'm not the only one.

Most FPS games give me terrible motion sickness. My head is fine, it's just I feel like I'm gonna spew after about 15 minutes. Playing Half Life 2 on The Orange Box the other day gave me the worst motion sickness I've ever had.

I believe it has something to do with your eyes following the movement on the screen but your brain doesn't pick up the sensation of actually moving, so it thinks you've been poisoned and tells your tum to basically get rid of anything inside of it.

Halo 3 didn't give me motion sickness, and I'm fine with most PC FPS titles. It might have something to do with the frame/refresh rate, as well.

How many of you regularly get motion sickness on actual real-life vehicles?

I do, but not once from a videogame.

I always found that Wolfenstein 3D used to muck me about something rotten. The high speed combined with the very blocky, plain textures really used to mess with me. Can't say I've had it with any modern games, but at the same time I've not played any FPS games for any length of time post-Q3...

I play all my 360 games on my projector, 7ft screen from 12 feet away. Mega.

Took a while to get used to the field of vision on FPS but other than that it's fine. If I play for too long, especially on racing games I can get a bit of 'tunnel vision', where I feel a bit wobbly afterwards.

Have never suffered from motion sickness while travelling, but do through games. Cannot play any FPS', and Resident Evil 4 gave me the same bad feelings, but I managed to get through that in the end.

Never thought of the wristband option ... will have to try that out!

you can buy a wristband that apparently helps with motion sickness

some guys at sea use them for the roughest weather and they seem to work fine
