Final Fantasy: An odd one this as apart from a few series staples (chocobos, summons etc.) each game has very little to do with the previous whether it be new battle systems, job systems etc. But everytime Square release a new one I will become totally engrossed without fail and very often 'get' what they have set out to achieve.

Ridge Racer: Hands down my favourite racing game series. The combination of the fantastic handling model (on rails maybe but hella fun) that just encourages you to send cars around corners sideways and the superb soundtracks means I will continue to buy into this series. Can't say I'm overly enamoured with the Nitrous systems of the more recent games sadly.

Resident Evil - Ignore the ****ty spin-off games (Gun Survivor I'm looking at you).

      I'll go with..

      Super Robot Taisen:- Massive series.
Ogre Battle/Tactics Ogre:- Still the best series of stories I've come across in a Roleplayer series.
Disgaea:- I know its only 2 games, but its the best new franchise in years.

              1. Sega Rally series - still need to check out 2006 (PS2) to know what i have'nt missed out on. Sole purpose to buy me a 360 atm.

              2. Conflict series - although instantly milked, one of the best co-op games in my opinion, the soundtrack option is much welcomed. Preferably Vietnam chapter because of the close combat/dense foliage.

              3. DDR style games - only recently discovered and really enjoying because of the utter cheezynes that oozes from most of the tracks Stepmania boosted this love for dance games for me. I suck on the mat, but am a master on the pad.

              Also noteworthy:
              - Metal Slug series - although as good as no variation in the series, still very fun to play, gonna give the 3D version a good chance soon.

              - Rockstar games - not GTA series, actually only Red Dead Revolver and The Warriors. OK, granted, no a series, but I love the way they present it, it feels and looks like you're playing a real movie as they derived from such. I really hope they make some others (inspired by movies) in the same way.

I struggled with this. Seriously. I don't think I've ever enjoyed every game in a series enough to like the series as a whole, if that makes sense? But anyway, my cobbled together top 3...

                1. Project Gotham Racing (including MSR). For me, my favourite racing series of all time. Perfect balance between arcade and sim. Love the music in all of them but MSR is still my favourite because of the radio stations.

                2. Grand Theft Auto. Loved it in 2D. Loved it more in 3D. I know its some peoples favourite but Vice City was my least favourite one. The rest I could play, and play, and play...

                3. Secret of Monkey Island. This is one I struggled with, but thanks to Legendary for jogging my memory. Awesome sense of humour. Yarrr!!

This is difficult just remembered MG, GT, VF, Zelda etc. So many great franchises to choose.

Winning eleven/PES: Sublime football goodness for many years.Always being tweaked to perfection.

Ridge racer: Always loved the way this game has stuck to it's arcade roots can't wait to have a good go at RR7 when I get a PS3. Always love the presentation and style of the RR games as well. For me Type 4's intro being a prime example along with RRV "The City Is Yours".

Biohazard/Resident Evil: For me this set of games can do no wrong I thought 4 was amazing the same as everyone but as highlighted in a previous post, the Remake that was released not that long in to the Game Cubes life span knocked my socks off graphically.

                        In no order:

Mario - Mario games are ace, even the crap ones are good!

Halo - Epic games, music and great story.

Sonic - Pushing his luck lately and even having to rely on Mario to survive, but the classics will always be good.

Shenmue gets a special mention too.

Same here, I didn't like Vice City very much. But I think we're in the minority.

                            1. Mario Kart
                            2. Legend of Zelda
                            3. Mario RPG/ Paper Mario

They are the three series I make sure I buy every game for, and play til completion. Have some Zeldas and Mario's to catch up on, but theyre waiting patiently on the pile!

Amazing how hard this is really, top 10 I could do pretty quickly but top 3...

                              Hmm. These aren't in order.

                              1. Mario
I'd have to say Mario as I've had hundreds and hundreds of fun hours playing numerous Mario games.

                              2. Resident Evil
Enjoyed every single game and completed every game numerous times.

                              3. Final Fantasy
VII took my life away for a while, played it through too many times, every since then I was hooked on them.

                              Honourable Mentions
Sonic could have made it but I don't remember a good sonic game since Sonic Adventure on the Dreamcast, and that's a long time ago...shows how off-the-rails the devs have gone

Zelda also was an outsider but again, they've (I feel) gone off the boil a bit, the formula has just gone so stale, I couldn't even be bothered with the Wii Zelda, played it for about 5 hours and just never bothered again. That said, I'm looking forward to the DS Zelda when I pick a copy up!

Call of Duty, though a small franchise is just of such high quality that it deserves a mention, as does the PGR games which again, are extremely high quality throughout.
