    Cartridge system poll

Im bored so whats your fave cart based system???

Not just for games but also for stylish looks. For me its the pc engine so small and white and the hucards are so cool looking compact & near indestructible what more could you ask for.

How could you possbly not like these

So come on tell me you favourite, wether its a old atari 2600 or a gameboy advance

I like the tiny Neo Geo Pocket carts and their little cases. They're so cute

I liked cartridges. They felt and looked like you actually owned something - you just don't get this feeling from CD's.

I always had a fondness for the stupidity of the upside-down and back-to-front Atari VCS cartridges. Meant I never knew what was in my machine until I got up close.

I liked the Sega Master Systems carts cos they kept a nice uniform Times New Roman on burgandy label throughout its life.

The Game Boy's clever cart protection notch was a favourite of mine and saved me on a few occasions.

Additionally props to Nintendo and SNK for bringing out some of the heaviest cartridges know to man on N64 and NeoGeo.

Worst carts were on the NES. Their attempts to distance themsleves from Atari resulted in some really wasteful and impractical design. Famicom stuff is much nicer.

Erm, you can't choose your favourite cart-based system because of Hu-Cards. It defies the point of the whole "favourite cart based system" thing.

Anyway, I'm not sure. The Game Boy was pretty damn good. Quality cartridges and a quality system. I own 6 Game Boys in total and I have to say that they are officially the best thing ever.

Yeah i sort of see what you mean but even though they are called Hu-cards they are still tecnically cartridges so its still a cart based system.

Even though obviously it had tape and discs, I'm gonna "cheat" and say the C64 anyhows

Pure cart machine would have to be the SNES, classic era gaming...
Lie with passion and be forever damned...

SNES, definitely, but then the only other cartridge systems I've owned are the NES (urgh, horribly designed and the infamous "dusty" connectors), Gameboy Pocket (where the cartridges didn't fit snugly into it like the original GB) and the Megadrive (which didn't look very good).

Purely on looks though, it has to be the GBP, because it was so neat, and red. I like red.

Yes. I love my NGPC and the small cartridges. Particularly:

The clear plastic cases have "SNK" and "Made in Japan" written on the back as well as see-thru rectangular sections on front, revealing the coloured cart cover and the SNK- and NGPC-logo of the game within.

Not sure about Last Ninja, but one of the first games I owned on the C64 was a cartridge based football game.

Yes, Faselei is one of my faves also I too dig those little windows. I only wish Nintendo continued the cart-case trend with the GBA. There's something about loose carts that makes me uneasy.

Neo Geo AES - By far my fave. Oh why oh why did I sell?

                              SNES was great too.
