If only everything now was sold to 'yoofs' with the undeniable coolness of RAP.

Master System was okay, I had a ton of games for it that I got second hand. I don't really remember any classics though, most of the games I played seemed pretty weak to someone already weaned on Mega Drive (I played using one of those converters). Action Fighter was pretty fun though. I doubt I'll be tempted to rebuy anything on the VC, I'd just play it once for nostalgia then never touch it again. It's so predictable X|

rap isnt cool anymore though its just plain terrible. (I mean current day rap)

Thats not being honest its just being a ****. The Master System wasn't a mega seller but it still did well and had plenty of good honest games that had a special charm to them.

The only games I remember enjoying on the MS was this in-house Commando clone called Secret Commando (which was later re-released as a Rambo license with just a new title screen - what a wheeze!)

...and that's forgetting the Japanese original, which went by the name of Ashura and had only a few sprite changes, so really Sega released three versions of the same game!!

Fantastic music, but a rock-hard motherfcuker of a game, even in 2P co-op.

Have to agree, I'm afraid. Although (as I've already stated a few posts back) it must be said that a considerable part of this was down to the utter dominance that Nintendo were exerting in the 8-bit console market at the time, especially with the developers.

The MS was a **** NES IMO with only a few games worth playing, Sonic 2 and Alex Kidd built in.

I can't think of much on the Master System either that wouldn't have had better versions on other consoles. I'm willing to be proved wrong though, I never owned one (not even as a retro purchase in later years) so I don't know any better!

Nice that you're sticking up for the MS and that but it seems to have a reputation for mostly having rubbish ports of titles available elsewhere. If it deserves better then we'll see when stuff comes out on the VC
