Does Aliens vs Predator count? Both games were awesome, three different ways of playing an fps.

On the whole, I'd say the star wars licence has been quite hit and miss, but the super's, star wars arcade, the jedi knights, the X-wing/tie fighters and the knights games are all ace. And whilst we're on lucasarts, the point and click indiana jones games are superb too.

Iirc, the Lilo & Stitch GBA games are really cool, like mini-Metal Slugs.

Christ, yes, another vote for the Aliens vs Predator games (like Riddick, vastly better than the films that followed them) and Bladerunner. I mean, I loathe point'n'click games for the most part - stupidly obtuse puzzles, horribly unfunny comedy - but I still adored Bladerunner. Superb use of the license.

I played a few levels of it and it just bored me to tears. Everything seemed as if the setting was merely a skin over what could have been pretty much any game.

On the other hand, that skin was certainly jaw-droppingly gorgeous, which does keep making me want to buy it again.

Great licenses... Riddick's certainly one; many, many times better than the film, too. I have to credit Goldeneye, even if I didn't enjoy the game much. EA's Lord of the Rings games last gen were surprisingly good - not great, but fun, a lot more than I expected from cash-in Dynasty Warriors knock-offs.
              The multiplayer was ace though.

Some of my fav's would be

Jurassic Park - Mega CD (very underrated)

                The Thing - X-Box

Riddick - X-Box (One of the best games ever made)

                Indiana Jones FOA - PC

                Blade Runner - PC

                Golden Eye - N64

                King Kong - X-Box

DieHard Arcade -Saturn (way underrated no least inthe Gfx dept)

Aliens The Gun game - Arcade

Lost World - Arcade (still the best light gun game ever made)

                Star Wars - Arcade

                Spiderman - Mega Drive

                Batman Returns - Mega CD

Cliffhanger - Mega CD (only for the amazing John O'Brien 3d sections)

Masked Rider- Mega CD (well I liked it)

Alien Resurrection - PS (so underrated its untrue)

                Ghost Busters - ZX Spectrum

                Worst

Well there's been a few but much like the film, I though the Fifth element was dire . I almost laughed when I my mate liked it , and Judge Dredd on the Mega Drive and pS were pretty bad too

I can't help but think Riddick gets pretty over-rated - probably because it was an involving and entertaining use of the license when virtually no-one expected any such thing. As a game it was way too easy, clumsy and not terribly consistent. There were no particularly hard parts, the gunplay wasn't up to that much, and bits of it were rushed and amateur - right from the start, even. Did no-one else cringe when the game set up its tutorial like that?

On the other hand, it was a good game from Starbreeze - I mean, Jesus, I'd have confidently bet a fairly large sum of money it would have been horrendous. I still have some pretty painful flashbacks about Enclave. And it did contain moments of utter, utter genius - the entire breakout sequence up to the heavy guard is still one of my favourite set-pieces in any videogame ever. Still, overall, best game ever made? Eh, different strokes, I suppose.

I didn't think Riddick was that easy - compared to most other console FPSes, it was reasonable. It's nasty in Hard - very tough.

It should also be noted if you imply one more time that Chronicles of Riddick (the film) is bad, I'll take you to brown town.

Darkman on amstrad CPC was really good, as was Robocop!

I have a pirate of Jamie Lee Curtis movie to game "Virus" on Playstation, as you can imagine, its totally awesome.

I always felt Alien Trilogy was quite a wicked game. Not the best game ever by any means, but I enjoyed it more than the AvP games tbh.

Rambo 3 and Terminator on MD were pretty good. I know Terminator was incredibly easy and very short, but the graphics, music and atmosphere were spot on.

I think the best for me was Goldeneye N64
The worst, Friday The 13th on the Spectrum

I think there should also be a thread for the best movie licenced games never made. I was thinking of this whilst my son was playing From Russia With Love. I thought if they could make a game of that Bond film then why not take a Roger Moore era film. The obvious one for me would be The Spy Who Loved Me. I know there was that Spy Hunter rip off version on the Amiga years back but a new version would be great. That and Moonraker. Others to concider:
                              The Abyss
                              Event Horizon
Clash Of The Titans (soon to be rectified according to IGN gossip)
                              Troy
Lawrence Of Arabia (not sure how that would work but its my fav film so makes the list)

Consider it implied in triplicate. Now I can safely smile and ignore any critical opinion you have about anything ever!

                                (From my hospital bed.)

Probably one of the worst films I've ever seen in my life, and it doesn't work on any kind of ironic, camp or kitsch level either, if that's what you were shooting for. I also loved and own both Pitch Black and Dark Fury, so it's not as if I don't like Mr. Diesel.

I did love the game. Starbreeze are still dumb, but at least they're now big dumb fun, whereas Enclave was bad enough I am seriously ashamed for ever having bought it. Riddick was hugely, hugely entertaining for a great deal of its playing time, not least the set pieces. But it was pretty damn easy. On Normal, at least - I never played it on Hard, so I have no opinion there.
