The Guinness book of records became worthless in my eyes a long long time ago.

stupid advertisements disguised as records (most megapixels in a consumer camera), incorrect, badly researched records (Scooby Doo has the most episodes of a cartoon ever? There are at least 3 anime series that have outdone it).

Then there are the stupid allowances for some record. The previous record for playing a game (something like 24hours) involved a team of 5, playing in 2 hour stretches, they were allowed game overs. Likewise someone pogoing up stairs was allowed breather periods in another.
