They're going to have to market the hell out of this if they're expecting to touch the sales of Guitar Hero 3. I have a suspicion this is going to sink out of sight in the Christmas run in. Admittedly for Activision it won't be that bad a problem, because Modern Warfare 2 is likely to be Christmas number 2 (behind Wii Fit Plus, which if they can get enough stock out will absolutely clean up this year).

A lot of the previews have been very positive once the press actually get their mitts on the game. I understand that they are getting demo pods in the main stores in the US. If they can get enough decks out there to try, it might be a success, but I admit it's a huge ask given the price.
I get the impression from the previews that the Renegade Deck is the deck they would want to have released with the full game. But given the cost, they've scaled it back by cutting out things like wireless to get the basic model down to a half reasonable price.Comment
