Ive held out on commenting but i cant any longer, this game is a really stupid idea, how hard would it of been to put the buttons on the side records don't have buttons wtf.

it just seems lazy and really trying to shoehorn its way into a guitar hero model. You can sort of see the idea of the plastic guitars buttons as it supposed to simulate playing cords and strumming but this is just completely abstract.

If you look at 2.15, you can clearly see a cable from the USB port of the 360 to the controller.

Also, on Giant Bomb they specifically said that if you plug in the turntable to a PC, it recognises it as a controller. They even discussed if you culd use it to play MAME games (apparently it registers but is not sensitive enough).

Could be a power cable though I guess as image four on the engadget photo's seems to show a battery compartment.

That image also shows what looks like a compartment on the right side of the unit (left side when round the right way) which coorresponds with the cable on the unit in that other video. Who knows, maybe it is wireless with a retractable cable in case batteries run out.

Or maybe early units sent to the press were wired?

The Renegade version is all black with gold knobs instead of silver.

Just noticed that the pre-order item on the Red Octane store mentions wirless connectivity for both controllers:

The normal version has been confirmed from pretty much all corners as being wireless.

Given that, I might change my order to the normal edition. I have most of the Eminem tracks on the CD and I think Jay Z is vastly overrated. I think the gold trim on the Renegade deck looks tacky and I prefer the silver on the normal version.

Which means I'm paying ?40 for a case/stand. And as I can see myself playing with the deck on my lap some of the time, is it worth it?

If the Renegade edition looked a bit better, I might stay with it, but from the promo shots it looks too 50 Cent.

I can't remember which one it was but one of the previews also said that the Renegade deck was metal whereas the standard deck was plastic. They didn't mention if they meant the whoel body or just certain parts though.

We'll probably not know the full details of both sets until somebody does a full hands on with both versions.

Man, I hope this bombs so that I can get it cheap after Chrimbo!

Both versions are wireless, The renegade edition has a polished cabinet and metal crossfader/effects dial. Honestly, no advantage to the Renegade edition, you know how those fingerprints bugged you on a new PSP? Well, it's like that.

                  I'm with you on that.

I'd like to try it but my house is a multiplayer Rock Band nirvana so I don't think it is going to live up to that...

Think I will buy the original now. I thought the exclusive stuff on the Renegade was in-game tracks, but as it isn't, I'm not fussed by the stands.

They have this to play in Birmingham hmv. No wires other than the power cable. Looked ace.

So it doesn't use batteries then?

Anyone got any links to some gameplay footage, would like to know how it plays. Love Beatmania, so i'm hoping for an easier version of that.

Yes, but they obviously have it plugged in all the time in-store... so that they don't have any batteries running out situations.

Not meaning to be rude but there are videos all over youtube, the official website, this thread... seriously, they are everywhere.
