You fail to see my point guys - in Ninja Gaiden the game does not allow you to harm innocent or ordinary people GTA does. In Ninja Gaiden you cannot engage in any sexual scenes there are only mild references in GTA 4 you can. As I said Ryu is on a revenge! and save the world type flex. Nico is on a big time gangstar wannabe.

of course this is a matter that will always be open to debate, understand what I'm saying guys.

I don't mean to try and derail the thread here. I just find Morph's statement a little curious.

You do realise having sex in real life is entirely legal? And pretty good fun too? Besides, GTAIV is really tame when it comes to sex.

And the idea that it's okay to brutally slaughter 'bad' people and so that's cool could be seen as naive. Killing is killing.

The abridged version: "I see what you're saying, Morph. But I personally disagree"

          The slightly longer version:

From another point of view: In GTA4, you have a choice not to kill innocent people etc. And that if you do do illegal things, then there are ever-increasing consequences for doing so i.e. the escalating police confrontation.

And given that you haven't played GTA4, Morph, I don't think it's fair to be making assumptions on who Nico is and what his motivations are. I can remember reading a bit about Nico when the game was announced. Apparently he immigrated to Liberty City because he heard from his brother (who is in Liberty City) that there is a good life to be had (money, cars, girls etc.). However, when he gets there, he realises it's not quite as rosy, and ends up getting dragged into rather shady circumstances (possibly linked to his brother's shady line of work, though I can't remember those details). By the sounds of things, he might not have set out to be a criminal to make his way.

Anyone with better knowledge of the plot can correct me on any of that though.

So if killing/doing morally wrong things is all about circumstance, then according to the above synopsis Nico is a man with good intentions caught in a bad situation, doing what he has to survive. Which isn't all that different from Ryu's revenge/save the world schtick, if you ask me.

I think it all depends on how you look at it though. I personally don't believe GTA sets out to enforce the mentality that it's perfectly A-ok to kill innocents/rob people etc., mainly because the game introduces consequences for doing bad things. I understand where Morph's coming from, because the series of games has always given off the reputation that it's a game that encourages people to take the morally corrupt choices within it, but I don't think it encourages the player to engage in these acts any more than a crime movie forces the viewers to watch similar acts.

GTA doesnt endorse punching people running them over its not blatently telling you to do it, you could do every mission in the game within the proper story and with reasons to do your what your doing.

"Least our ninja Ryu will not endorse pornography, punch some one in the face or run someone over for no reason."

Ahhh good ole Ryu Hayabusa, full of morals, love and of course NEVER endorsing violence or pornography....

Is the view nice from you moral high ground?
Quoted for hilarity. That top Ninja Gaiden image is more obscene anything in GTA4

I refuse to believe any woman with sweater meat that large can preform any kind of ninjutsu.

They'd most likely be covered in scars considering how exposed they are

She doesn't. She just swings a giant axe around, probably to keep herself from toppling over due to her obscenely large breasts XD

                      This isn't a joke. I knew a 25-year-old woman - who did Ninjutsu - and she had J-Cup breasts.

The sight of her in her black uniform - with a bo staff, was awesome.

She didn't ever dress as provocatively as that Gaiden babe though

Didn't get GTA4. Never liked the GTA games, never will I doubt. Esp having tried my brother's copy of GTA4...Found the controls very terrible, poor camera, silly driving mechanics etc. Those alone made me switch game immediately.

Playing Everybody Golf Hotshots and GT5P / MGS4 now.
I would say MGS4 is actually the least fun of the 3 games haha.

Never really got into the whole GTA thing either. I'm more into the styles of gaming that do well in Japan (RPG's, shoot-'em-ups, beat-'em-ups, platformers, puzzle games etc). 'Western' type games like Bully and GTA just don't appeal.

I recommend you give it a bit more time. It is very different from previous GTA games, but once you get used to it it is by far the best car handling of any non-racing game.

I finished the game yesterday. I would say the strengths largely lie in improved storytelling and world realisation. The basic missions are still very familiar. The gun combat is also improved compared to previous GTAs (although still not perfect, at least you don't have to resort to running everybody over).
