Stirring? Not all all. It would be a genuine pleasure to play SMG in HD. The art style is lovely, but on my TV (which at 50" is pretty big to be fair) even very casual observers can see that it would look a lot nicer if it was sharper. 5.1 sound wouldn't got amiss either.
As for any distaste for the Wii, I'm note quite sure where you are coming from. A little Q/A session, just for you.
1) Do I like my Wii: yes.
2) Do I play it often: yes (Wii Fit has got my and my wife competing for yoga scores, and we both play it daily).
3) Do I wish it was graphically as powerful as the 360 and PS3, with 5.1 sound: yes.
I don't think my answer to 3) is that strange. Why wouldn't someone want their games to look and sound better?
