I've been playing through Persona 2: Innocent Sin this week. About 20 hours in so far, and I'm really quite enjoying it. It's dated, and can be a slog in places (long, ugly dungeons, and a high encounter rate), but I love the atmosphere and setting. It's got that megaten charm. I didn't actually like the social-sim aspect of Persona 3 much (from the little I played), and P2 is much more traditional, so in that respect I prefer it.

I also started up Jeanne d'Arc last night, which I'm loving. It looks gorgeous, and the combat is really satisfying. It reminds me of Vandal Hearts a bit, in the sense that it's a really quite simplistic TRPG, but just clicks together perfectly.

I actually really enjoyed the social side of P3 and 4. Me and the wife played through it together and had plenty of laughs.
Ive not tried innocent sin yet but done a fair chunk of eternal punishment and liked that a lot. I know what you mean about the style of the megaten games, perhaps my fav style now.

Jeanne is a title i want to love but i just cant get into Trpgs at all, never have.

I've started shmuping again this week. Throwing in a different game every day.

DoDonPachi today. Batsugun yesterday, Esp Ra.De. then DaiFukkatsu 1.5 before that.

Nice to be getting back into them on a regular basis. Mostly credit feeding at the moment and enjoying experiencing the whole game. Batsugun and DDP have really shone.

Even without playing them my awareness of the patterns has improved which has let me progress further and be able to handle once insta-bomb enemies without the slightest thought. I get the same effect with the Guitar games. Ain't the brain a smashin' bit of kit.

I had planned on getting stuck into Madden 10 this weekend but other than a quick couple of games on Friday it hasn't had a look in. Best Madden in years but Trials is like crack!

For around a week or so all my gaming time has gone into the PSP, mostly thanks to a never-ending flu bug that has put me right off doing anything strenuous (which covers most of my PS3 games).

I've been going through FFVII - progressed the story up to the beginning of disc 2 and ever since then I have been hopelessly addicted to the Battle Arena and Chocobo Racing at the gold saucer. I've been racing my chocobos to earn GP that I use to enter the battle arena, and I spend the battle points I earn on greens to improve my chocobos. Rinse and repeat. When my chocobos get promoted too far I'm releasing them and catching new ones to start over. It's pure magic

Most of the weekend i played Uncharted i am going to finish this game o and abit of Blazblue and Street Fighter man i am out of touch with SF i suck at it now

Late to the party as usual - I've been playing Rock Band/2 with my kids as we are all on holiday.

Playing through Crisis Core right now. I'm going to come out and say that at least half the fun of the game is all the deliberate pressing of the nostalgia button, but that doesn't mean that I'm not enjoying it; it's sort of like re-playing FFVII - familiar environments, same music, same characters-only-younger - without actually needing to replay FFVII.

My only gripe is that the random encounter rate is absolutely nuts at times; I've gone from one fight to another after taking a single step a couple of times.

I did like it for a while, but after about 15 hours into the game, I just found I was getting into too much of a set pattern, and was doing it all by rote. I definitely enjoyed the setting and interacting with the characters, though.

This wasn't actually the reason I stopped playing, however. I stopped as FES came out just as I began, and I thought I'd just get that and restart, which I've still never got around to doing. For now P2 is taking priority.
