I've been playing Resident Evil 5 on the PC. I've completed it on the 360 already, but since I'm armed with nothing more than my laptop right now, I figured I'd replay the game on PC. Surprisingly, I'm enjoying it. I prefer the 'old-style' Resi so I was never a massive fan of this game on release, but I have been enjoying my second play through, seeing that the game does have more to offer than pure action. The swamp area is pure genius, for example.

Borderlands - Finally got to Lv50 and the 1000G but it's still kicking my ass in single layer on the second run.

PES2009 - Scraping a bit more out of this before I upgrade. Become A Legend blows.

DW Gundam 2 - Trying to unlock all the characters and eventually get 100% completion.

All on a 19" monitor as my tv died last week. That's another reason for my lack of PS3 action - No HDMI and we don't even have a spare tv I can nab for my pit!

Played Oblivion:GOTY Edition for about 2.5 hours, enjoying it, very glad of the vastly improved combat since Morrowind, but still getting lost in the boring, Lord Of The Rings-style plotline, too much detail, not enough dynamism, fun. I feel a pressure to have to absorb every plot detail chucked at me, yet I find the plotlines and cutscenes over-complex yet tediously derivative. I mean, I find books on tables, I begin to read them, I find they have 40 pages, but the writing style is like in The Bible, only less passionate and interesting. I get stressed. But I'll continue with it, it's a very well-executed, playable game.

Then, had a few ciders, slacked sensibly from Oblivion, so have opted for Links 2004 on original XB cos it's nicely backwards compatible on 360, and I've had a good 4-year hiatus from it. Played this a bit over the last couple of nights, and despite the sonics (music/commentators) it's one of my all-time favourite golf games, up there with PGA2 on MD and Ace Golf on GC. It's a hard feeling to describe, but you get a really good feeling of 'smooth, thick contact' which the Tiger Woods games often seem to lack (they lack the 'thick' part, for the most). Really enjoying this game, really, really.

          Dragon Age: Origins (PC)
Surprised how much im enjoying this, its fantastic. Playing on easy as I've no experience with Bioware RPG's at all.

Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time
Another title im surprised I like, but its top fun and well presented.

          Tekken 6
Online stints with this game, I absolutely hate the campaign mode but the fighting system in the main game is great, I just wish I could get more then the rare decent lag less fight... Namco hurry up with that damn patch!

Jak and Daxter The Lost Frontier
Superb handheld platformer, with an emphasis on platforming, camera can be a royal pain but it doesnt detract from a superbly crafted game which im enjoying lots.

Man I love this time of year!

This week I have been mostly playing:

Ratchet & Clank Future - A Crack In Time (PS3) - Another fantastic entry in the Ratchet & Clank series from Insomniac. 17 hours and 100% completed (all gold bolts, Zoni and upgrades). If I ignore Resistance 2 then I can say with confidence that Insomniac have never made a bad game See my thoughts on R&C here: Ratchet & Clank Future - A Crack In Time First Play

Street Fighter 4 (PS3) - Still getting a load of play. This game is still as amazing now as when I first loaded it up back in February!! Can't wait for SUPER!!

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (360) - In preparation for the sequel whenever I get to play it next week (someone has to work and sell copies to all those CoD fans who want it at midnight and a day off is looking increasingly unlikely). Still looks great and I still suck at it online.

Secret Agent Clank (PSP) - I had been trying to get a copy of this for ages and one was traded in at work last week. Only played about an hour but it looks great for a PSP game and it has most of the R&C series core gameply mechanics in it but with a stealthy twist.

Tekken 6 (PS3) - A hideously upscaled to HD mess that reminded me of Haze in it's execution (why is there no "shudder" smiley?) I had this for exactly 20 minutes before realising that Street Fighter 4 is miles better than this! Namco, give it up!!

EDIT: Shozuki, is Jak & Daxter on PSP really that good? I really enjoyed all the PS2 games and have hope that Naughty Dog will do a full PS3 version but if the PSP game really is that good it could tide me over.

There is a jak and daxter demo on the us psn psp store, liked it although the auto aim gunplay was bit poo, it's coming out on ps2 though, may wait for that version.
Jak and Daxter takes me back, was the reason I bought a ps2.
I have only been tapping into small bursts this week on the likes of Shatter, RR7, Pixeljunk Eden, Loco Roco 2 and about to restart Alone in the Dark on 360, see if I can finish it this time.

Disgaea 2 Dark Hero Days I bought the first game and never played it on the PS2. It came out on the PSP and I promptly clocked over 100hours into the game before losing the save file (can't remember the details). This game is just as good and they've made some nice improvements, especially to the item world with the additions of the mystery rooms being a very welcome break to the dungeon grinding. My characters are only level 20 or so, but even at this early stage I can see myself sinking a lot more into this game before I am truly done with it.

PES 2010 Thoroughly enjoying online until I got some input laggy games. Had one game last night against an inferior player but no lag. Unfortunately for him, I wasn't in a forgiving mood, I beat him 4-0 with 17 shots (13 on target) whereas he had no shots on goal at all. Fair play to the guy, he didn't quit the game either, and I wasn't letting him off for any of his mistakes.

Uncharted 2 I still come back to the multiplayer. Playing against a proper team pisses me off since they can dominate, but the way they shout crap down the mic probably annoys me the most. The maps are generally good and the multiplayer is pretty balanced on the whole.

Still slowly working my way through Uncharted 2. Wanted to progress the story so didn't do any multiplayer this weekend. Other than that not that much gaming; had a blast playing Mushroom Wars with friends Saturday and had fun checking out the Valkyria Chronicles 2 demo last Friday.

While waiting impatiently for MW2 to ship, I thought I'd kill time by completing WaW on Veteran. I only had the last two levels to do but it still took most of the weekend to finish. It's the first time I've ever completed a CoD game on that setting...and the last. To paraphrase that famous quote from General Dwight Eisenhower, "Your task will not be an easy one. Your enemy is well trained, well equipped and battle hardened. He will fight savagely...and also ****ing cheat!"

                      I think I'm a bit addicted to Fallout3. Played until 10. Then 11.

I attacked a Wasteland Raider stronghold by sniping then missiling them only to find a cage full of prisoners. As I released them, I could hear a loud walking sound and went to find out what it was. Mistake. It was a Super Mutant Behemoth (about 20 foot tall!). I managed to take him out with the help of a mini-nuke, but then wanted to loot the Raider compound.

Found another door which lead to a Raider market place, which I took down. Did a few trips back and forth from my home to heal and drop off my haul. Looked at the clock and it'd gone 12, again.

I've a backlog of films to watch on Sky+, but I'd rather be playing Fallout 3...

I even worked my way through the 85 pages of First Play on the subject during my lunch breaks...

I've been playing a fair bit of EyePet, both with my girls and on my own for the challenges. And yet more Torchlight, where I've started a Very Hard Alchemist.

Well look, I really enjoyed the old ones and im finding lots of the same charm in this handheld version. It's definately a great game and will make you smile like the old ones did, gameplay wise its solid and as for the earlier mention of the aim, I'm not really having any issues, that said the game is noticably geared toward the original game with a heavy emphasis on platforming. But the game is certainly not perfect camera control is very slow and unresponsive and often the game gives you strange angles making you miss a jump. Checkpoints are well spaced espcially with the games handheld nature. Camera is an issue but its not a deal breaker, if you need something to use on you PSP I've no qualms in recommending it.

Apart from Fifa 2010 and Batman I barely play any video games this week due to my new found passion for salsa dancing (and Kizomba) Been out for 3 nights over weekend.

I think Salsa is taking over video games.

Yeah, but, mate... THINK ABOUT IT: you don't get gamerscore for performing dance moves, do you!
