I've had Dead Space for ages, and finally decided to play it. My god it's a great game. I've been a bit of a Resi 5 apologist at times, but this is what a survival horror should be like. Take note, Capcom. Just an excellent use of audio-visual elements. And it reminds me of Event Horizon, which is always a good thing.

Soul Calibur 4.
Gave up on this, said some bad things about this game particularly as I couldn't crack the CF.
Since I lost all my gamesaves (another story), been getting into some older stuff, so been giving this a go and it's started to click a bit better second time around.
I can now do the CF - whoop-de-do! - and although I still don't like its insertion in the game at least it gives you an extra way to win, and am at least getting further into it now.Last edited by Anpanman; 28-03-2010, 21:07.

Finally got around to playing Uncharted: Drake's Fortune this week, and just finished it today. Absolutely loved the characters and story, and it did a great job of immersing you into the action. Don't often feel such empathy with the characters in games these days, but Naughty Dog got this one spot on for me. Throw in the great platforming and gun combat, plus the lush graphics, and its easily one of the best games I've played this gen.

Been playing Red Faction: Guerrilla. The central mechanic of building de-construction is quite fun, although I can't help but feel it would be more fun if it was easier to work out what exactly is holding the building up. Yesterday I completely demolished the first floor of a building and it was still standing.
If they'd just put a little more effort into polishing this game it could have been truly great. The graphics are really pretty poor (really reminds me of the N64 days), especially in cut-scenes, and the music is about as generic as it gets. It also lacks some of the charm of the PS2 original – which was really quite stylish in a rip-off-of-Total-Recall kind of way.
Still, I'm glad I have/am playing it as it's quite different in certain respects. Certainly worth it for £10.

I have got rid of the guard in the first set of rooms but can't remember how to get out of them. I'm sure it was something to do with using the fire escape and swinging across the gap.
lol, i don't remember being this crap at this game!

This week:
Shoot 1UP - Amazing value for money
Pixel Boarder - Great fun and the first game my son can play properly
Deadly Premonition - I'm taking my time. Last thing I did was wonder around a basketball court at night time to collect a trading card lol - normally there would be no way I'd waste my time doing this sort of task, but the whole game is captivating me. I need to get on a progress the story though so I can actually do a review.
Blur beta - If the handling wasn't so completely lacking in grip, this would be top fun. As it is, it's a mild diversion. I hope the final game is a lot better.
Trials HD level pack - I foolishly put this on last night and 3 hours later I was suffering.

I have temporarily stopped playing Dragons Age: Origins, even though i am right at the end of the game, to play Heavy Rain - which i have throroughly enjoyed. Now that Heavy Rain is done, I have started playing NFS: Shift, which is not bad for a simulation-ish type game. Should tie my driving needs up till Gran Turismo I guess lol...........
I might go and finish Dragons Age: Origins, but as the Easter break is looming and i have an open calender, i might start Star Ocean, Last Hope: International on the PS3, haven't played a decent JRPG in a while, miss the cheese.......... Don't have FF13 yet, that can wait for a bit, Im in no rush..........

PlayTV mainly. That counts right? RIGHT!!!
Ever since I was struck down by the dreaded man-flu I took to watching TV over playing games. I play the odd bit of Gran Turismo PSP, and I did chapter 10 and the waterfall training in Ryu ga Gotoku Kenzan!, which has made me watch the Ryu ga Gotoku 3 intro about 6 times now, but not actually start playing it.
I really wanna give Red Seeds Profile a try, but I'm loathe to buy it.
I've realised that I'm not really into games at the moment. I'm doing a bit of hardware gathering, but that's about it.Kept you waiting, huh?

Been attempting to make a dent in the backlog this week. Completed Dead Space, which was an excellent game, and Mirror's Edge, which succeeded at being both the most satisfying game in the world, and the most infuriating. I enjoyed it, but less of a focus on combat in the sequel please Dice?
Next up is either Tomb Raider Underworld or Zeno Clash, both need completing, not decided which one to do first though.
