I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't really. I know that there was talk that it was going to but I'm not sure if Konami has mentioned it and I really don't know how people would feel about having to start the game from scratch again.

I wouldn't mind starting again as I've probably played through it 5 or 6 times and I'm still loving it but I don't think everybody feels that way about the game.

Yeah, I posted at the beginning of the month something that I found on Product Reviews which states that it is getting an update but I've not read anywhere else that MGS is getting them.

Games that already support PS3 Trophies are LittleBigPlanet, MotorStorm: Pacific Rift, NBA 09, as well as SOCOM: US Navy SEALs Confrontation. We have also learned that Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, BioShock, Burnout Paradise and Warhawk will get a patch to allow you to use the new ?Trophies? feature. Ok a couple of these games are great and gamers will be exited to know that they can now use the new trophies in one of the above games, but come on guys where is the Trophies Support for Call of Duty 4. Ok so we know that Call of Duty 5 is released in November and that will get the new Trophy Support, but that is going back to the WWII story, boring.

They seem fairly certain and the other games that they mention have been confirmed but MGS4 is the only one of the already released games that doesn't have saves locked to IDs as far as I know?

I'm hoping it will sometime though.

I had actually started my 3rd playthrough of mgs4 but I've held off for trophies aswell. Wouldn't mind playin through a few more times anyway but may as well get some trophies whilst doing so.

Just tried it an it didn't update for me. They seem to be using the medals which were in teh game at launch:

Naughty Dog has explained that Trophies in Uncharted will be awarded for exactly the same things as medals already are.

These have been in the acclaimed action adventure game since launch. There are around 47 of them and they are dished out for getting lots of headshots or staying alive for a long time or using one weapon to kill hordes of baddies, for example.

The only new addition will be a Platinum Trophy given for collecting all the others, according to according to Naughty Dog speaker Arne Meyer on IGN.

There could be quite a few for older games on the way too if this announcement from Sony is anything to go by.

PSN director of operations, Eric Lampel, has confirmed that Naughty Dog's Uncharted: Drake's Fortune will receive a Trophy update "at some point in the foreseeable future." In fact, Lampel told GameSpy, "Ultimately, we'll have trophies for every game." But ultimately is without a deadline currently, suggesting Trophy patches will be trickling out for the, um, foreseeable future.

Still, we imagine Sony is leaning on certain studios to allocate resources to Trophy building asap. Certainly there's a greater demand for Trophy support in Uncharted than in, let's say, Genji: Days of the Blade. Then again, an actual, historically accurate award for sticking the giant crab's weak point might be reason enough to procure Genji from a dusty bargain bin and suffer through the ill-fated launch title. Massive Damage Trophy? We so want that one.

Just worked out why it didn't update. I have a US copy of the game and the patch is only available for PAL versions at the moment.

Uncharted is only patched for the North American and European versions. I have an Asian copy and I am not able to download the patch.
