They seem to stock it round these parts (Somerset), although obviously each store has some variation. Why not just ask the staff?

BTW, this one's not officially out until Thursday.

This game has a lot to offer and follows a quite standard format but with a unique style. I feel the reviewer should be sacked for that WRONG score (yes its personal opinion, but if he is unable to spot a 6/10 game from an 8/10 game then does not deserve his job). The game offers about 8-10 hours play from end to end going through all the secret levels also. But their is so many reasons to revisit levels which i would say extend the lifespan to an easy 16-20 hours.

        'A standard format!'
'10 hours gameplay, 20 if you do each level twice!'

        8/10

So he deserves to lose his job because he did what he gets paid to do - offer a critical opinion on videogames?

Or because his opinion differs to yours?

          Gotta love the EDGE thread!!

Apparently there is a big 6 or 8 page feature on Fable 2, also interviewing Moly' in this months Edge. Why didn't anyone mention this!?

Because it's so much more FUN to nag about the review scores.

LOL just a bit miffed that this great game is going to be stamped on for issues that somebody else pointed out another game reviewed had but got 8/10

Anyway a reviewer should be able to see a good game even if he does not like it. 6/10 is a score that will make people think twice or even not buy the game. Im not a Final Fantasy or GTA fan but can understand why people do love them.

Surely Edge would give the game to someone who enjoys it though? For example, A MotoGP game would be reviewed by someone who has a relative interest in motorsport and bike racing. Wouldn't they?

I'm a bit disapointed by the MS7 score. I know its not exactly original, but its one of the best versions outside the NeoGeo in my books. I have thouroughly enjoyed it.

The last 70 pages of Edge are just waste .... it just gets worse

It's "The Edge" reviewing the games. Interests or subjectivity have nothing to do with it.

No, and I don't think that's necessarily a good way of reviewing, because surely doing it that way you're more likely to get a biased opinion? You can often get a far more interesting, balanced view of a game if the reviewer has little interest in the subject. It used to be one of Edge's strengths, in fact.

On the flipside though if a reviewer approaches a game on a total downer with a resigned sense of tedium and a lack of enthusiasm, then some good genre examples are going to get treated unfairly.

Remeber there isn't such thing as a perfect review method.

Thats pretty much why I love the First Play thread in here. Opinions from not just fans of genres, but fans of games in general. A fantastic resource for weighing up peoples opinions and guessing whether you'll like the game urself.
