    Yeah it's a 60.

    What an absolutely shambolic company, trying to charge the consumer out the arse for an out of warranty repair and then they lack the foresight of protecting their own arses with their protection plan.

      Thank God for that, reformatting the console seems to have fixed whatever the problem was - I've lost all my data and **** but it's not important, at least it's no longer ****ed

      Maybe my luck isn't ALL bad, just very bad in general...

        no problem!

        To be honest most of the PS3 faults I've seen have been a software/OS problem that can be solved easily enough, not usually the hardware, - unless its the bdrom drive that craps out.

        I guess you could have formatted it from the recovery menu also, unless you did already, hehe

          I just read on the digital spy forum that someone who had an almost exact same problem as me solved it with a full restore, so that's what I did

          Over 3 hours but at least it's thorough lol
