One very positive thing about the Cerberus network is that it gets around MS's requirement for charged for DLC. Thus Bioware can keep pumping out DLC that is effectively free to people who bought the game new.

Although I suspect this is probably the last free DLC will we see, it's interesting to see that it's EA of all companies who are doing this.

I thought EA was exempt from this rule anyway due to the arrangement they made to get EA using Xbox live in the first place. How else did Burnout Paradise release a years worth of free DLC?

Because it was free on PSN.

I don't think its a rule for all, just for first and second party stuff.

The rule applies to all, developers can release one free bit of DLC for every two paid for bits of content, unless the DLC is available for free on the PS3 or it is a title update of less than approx 10 meg.

That's why the Crash Course DLC for L4D cost 540 points, bit was free on the PC. It's also why the Rainbow Six Vegas DLC become free when the PS3 version was released (which was included on the disc).

Firewalker (Cerberus) and Appearance (PDLC) packs are now available to download. Personally I'm going to try and wait until a few substantial DLC stuff have been released before going back to the game.

edit: Only checked the PC version but I assume it's for both

Cerberus doesn't just need a hero - they need a one-man army. That's why the Equalizer Pack adds the Capacitor Helmet, Archon Visor, and Inferno Armor to Shepard's armor locker. The Capacitor Helmet stores power for kinetic barriers, allowing Shepard's shields to recharge faster. The Archon Visor manages omni-tools and biotic amps, reducing the recharge time of Shepard's powers. The powered Inferno Armor speeds up Shepard's movements and increases his tech and biotic power damage, additionally stress analysis software even gives him an edge in negotiations outside of combat. The Equalizer -- when the armor goes on, the gloves come off.
Not sure if it's up yet but I'll definitely be downloading it sometime today as I'd pretty much buy any new content for the game.

New story DLC next month apparently. No new characters but it's called Overlord and has more Hammerhead sections / exploration on a brand new planet.

No word on cost but it's `premium content` so won't be free.

BioWare has announced the next bit of DLC for Mass Effect 2, and it's called Lair of the Shadow Broker.

next dlc mentioned, I won't say announced as no price or date.

                      hurrah.

Great news. After reading the comics can't wait to get me a piece of the Broker. Or at least watch Liara get a piece of him while making snide remarks
