Is the Dsi the DS 2 or is it an updated DS like a GBA micro or SP to the GBA?

Juushinden beast battlers, needs the magic eye reader
Internet browser, needs the ram pak
Im sure theres a few more but those are the main ones, plus you lose the extras that putting gba games unlocked in a few other ds titles along with not been able to use the band bros expansion cart.
Not really going to be a problem for most of you but for me it is as i own a huge portion of those games so i doubt i'll be upgrading anytime soon.

Cheers for the replies
Its what i expected, but some people have been saying this is the new DS and regular DS software will be phased out in favour or DSi, i just wanted to know this would not be the case.
It will be interesting to see if this gets any major hardware updates on the inside specs wise. If that does happen i think we will see DS games slowly phased out.
Yes looking at the figures for Guitar Hero DS it has sold 1.4 million so far making it one of the most popular third party games on the system.

I doubt they will phase out old ds games for dsi stuff it would be financial suicide to do so. Considering the amount of people who own a regular ds, thats a lot of sales you would lose if you made games that only would work on the dsi. It's probably going to end up a spinoff piece of hardware with a few games that take avantage of the new features. If it becomes an obscene success & it passes the original ds for installed usebase then they may consider phasing out the old ds but somehow i dont think it's really going to happen.
