Picked up the DC game. It's quite good.

Personally, I can't understand why Blue Storm gets the caning that it does - it really isn't that bad - far from it. I remember playing around with it when the Gamecube was released - I was instantly pulling off all the tricks just like on Wave Race 64. In many ways, it was like revisiting an old friend (sort of!).
Don't get me wrong - Wave Race 64 is superior to Blue Storm every time, but Blue Storm is nowhere near as bad as some people on here are making it out to be.
Originally posted by Peekay View PostI bought it and played it for, ooh, six minutes? Straight back for a refund. Really stiff handling, boring courses, nondescript characters.
Did Nintendo whore the development out the Namco (like Starfox Adventures), or am I making that up?
Also, I think that you'll find Nintendo did Blue Storm in-house. Namco did Starfox Armada on the Gamecube. Starfox Adventures was done by Rare.Last edited by Nu-Eclipse; 22-10-2008, 09:03.

Memory may be wrong but I recall it as playing like Pure without the pre-loading, you had to get your speed right for weach jump.I was so hoping for an update, but Excitetruck was a nice change.

Nondescript characters? Most of the original Wave Race characters return in Blue Storm, as well as guest appearances by some of the 1080 characters. As for stiff handling and boring courses? Well, how can six minutes playing time (your own admission) possibly be enough to determine that?

One thing I did like - I seem to remember lots of marine life in and around the courses.

Wave Rave Blue Storm however is fantastic. It looks beautiful, controls even more smoothly because of the GameCube's superior controller and the level design and layout is stronger.
All in all, it's the better game.
