Can someone explain what the hell is going on with "No Luca No", the latest release on XLIG?
At the end of the frankly terrifying demo, it started muttering about giving me some backgrounds to put on my TV at parties or something.
Is there something I should know about Silver Dollar Games? They seem to have a massive catalogue.

Surely this is the reason no one bothers with XLIG? Why was this even allowed to be published?

As far as I can tell those silver dollar games are absolutely terribile in every way. A lot of them seem to be quite seedy looking.

Also, avoid "Divine Justice Zero" - it looks from the screenshot like a passable shooter (it's not) and when you die in the demo, it jumps straight to the "confirm purchase" dashboard popup, so if you are busy hammering A to restart, you'll unload 240pts by accident.

Silver Dollar Games have something like thirty or forty games on XBLIG. They are all that bad.

Perhaps they are just using it as a test bed for some trainee programmers....

They genuinely love what they do and don't want to improve themeselves. Their actual rationale, as given in interviews, is "we're really crap at programming but we like fart jokes," basically.

I would love to find out that Silver Dollar Games are actually part of an elaborate money laundering scheme.

Techno Kitten Adventure.... If you die a few times so your score doesn't go over 30000 you can see what the game is like. Pretty mental. All the same one button stuff, but with screen going nuts and pad vibrating. Trippy. Can't really recommend a purchase though.

Asteroids Do Concern Me has similar gameplay, but you can actually see what's happening and it's quite funny too, there's just random abuse when you die

Solar 2 is very cool, but I don't really have the patience for it.

Solar 2 is pretty cool but I think the original is better. Not only is it prettier and more fun but it's also a fifth of the price.

GravArena- if you have 4 players in the same room, this could be awesome. Couldn't check that out though. Gravity wells, attractor beams, weapons, asteroids.

Nova Remnant - weird tower dence kind of thing. Figure out the order in which to destroy the blocks so that you can set up your guns and stuff in time. Worth a dl.


Motorbike Stunt agent Julie - At first glance, lame, but stick with it. It gets better, with twinstick controls of a 2D stunt bike with guns but not as you expect. Hard.

Inferno! - if this had been released on the speccy/c64, we would have lapped it up. Very retro style. Sort of pacman meets paradroid.

Flip N Shift - sorry I must be thick. My brain couldn't keep up with the pace of this block colour changing action puzzle.

WispLisp Array of List - Japanese horizontal shooter. Give it a go if you like that sort of thing.

Cycloid - circular Arkanoid clone with controls that I didn't get on with, but you might.

Andromium - definitely download this trial. Make sure you get to level 2. Fantastic! You must get to level 2 though. If you give up on it on level 1, you have missed out.
