From my tests there can be a difference. Sometimes I'd estimate - and I can't stress this another, it's not scientific I'm not recording the footage as I lack equipment so I'm going by "feel" - the latency is acceptable; under 50ms, or a frame or two. Then other times, remember same server and same game, it can get to 500ms, or 15 frames.

That just sounds like something is broken with the connection somewhere. Why would it fluctuate?

I suppose my reaction was down to the fact that I still play my games with the same wide eyed wonderment I did 30 years ago when I was a kid, as opposed to spending the first 3 hours of any new game moaning about fact that the textures don`t appear within the first micro second of the level loading.

Rumour has it that the multiplayer is 5v5 and may have a different camera to the single player.

It could well be, but I think a 2nd person view is more likely, maybe in addition to the 3rd person view..

But if it was a dodgy connection, it would happen with PC games as well.

The fluctuation could be caused by many things, including yes ISP issues though I don't think that is the case. Maybe the 360 has to contact Live servers regularly, diverting resources.

Has anyone actually tried the shotgun test yet?
