Ballistic Publishing is partnering with Sony (more books on other games to come) to release The Art of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. The 272 page book collects the artwork that was done while creating the game in a stylish hardback or paperback cover. This includes concept art, character studies, environment art, character modeling, game art, cinematics, motion-capture, animation, effects, and insight from the guys at Naughty Dog on developing the game and gaming art in general.

The book is landing in a paperback edition for $65, a leather-bound Special Edition for $129, and a collector?s Limited Folio Edition with hand-crafted, leather-bound presentation case, and hand-signed and numbered Certificate of Authenticity from Naughty Dog?s key creators for $300. You can pre-order it now, and if you're one of the first 300 people to get the softcover edition or any of the special editions then you will receive a 15 minute walkthrough video of three of the concept pieces for the game.

Nice looking books...... bit late in the day, being half a year on, but still a welcome addition all the same. If they weren't so bloody expensive I'd want one

Nothing to do with this game really but too early for it[s own thread.

One of Naughty Dog's artists has posted some concept art on his blog about a new game co-created with the art director at thatgamecompany which is inspired by Ico.

It doesn't mention whether it's developed by Naughty Dog & thatgamecompany or whether it's some sort of side project that the two of them are working on but as far as I'm concerned Naughty Dog + thatgamecomany x Ico = Pure Friggin' Awesome!!!

Are we sure the game in question isn't Journey? Could definitely see the connection to Ico in that

They've commented on it now it appears to be nothing at all.

I just want to clarify that the ICO project is something my friend Matt Nava are doing for fun. It has ZERO connection to Sony or Naughty Dog.

Matt and I both share love for ICO and wanted to see what it would be like to redesign it as a side project. Maybe I should have made that more clear. If you really need proof ask yourself why I have not been fired after posting what would be NDA work online for all to see.

Was going to play Kingdom Hearts: BBS tomorrow but might have to load this up again instead. Should be able to get through it in one day!

Amazon France put this listing up earlier.

Doesn't exactly confirm anything but when you add up the work of this concept artist which was leaked and dismissed a while back and the fact that he works for this company and their client list suggests that it could be one of the titles that they're playing with at the moment.

Figured it'd be UC3 instead of new dlc once the GOTY edition was announced with no new items... which is still in itself awesome news. It's looking pretty much set for a Nov 2011 release.
