Tesco's is dirt cheap, so i couldn't care for their loses from this. The consumer wins for once!

Tesco do loss leaders all the time though. They make a loss on practically every item in their Value range.

Loss leaders are to drag people into stores, not sure of the success of it online.

I'm still waiting to see the supermarket price on day of release. If it's around that mark, I'll pick it up. Not bothered pre-ordering.

They do get their money but it sticks two fingers up at the pricing startegy Activsion have adopted with this game.

I don't think Activision will mind one bit, as stores will still have to pay the full wholesale price offered to them. If anything, it validates the strategy because they can rely on retailers to play the loss leader and keep the game's price competitive with other games, whilst ensuring the same increased profit for Activision. But I recognise that I'm being a tad too cynical here, this is good news for people who are intending to buy the game.

I understand what you mean but the only retailer taking the hit afaik so to speak is Tesco.

Even gameplay have it at 42.99 and they are always good for pre-orders.

In general Activision are responsible for possibly setting a standard which could see the price of games increase towards the end of a platforms life cycle.

Only time will tell...........

...yeh but its included in the mid-level hardened edition which isnt all that "crazy" to me. Given the price difference and cool box art its probably worth the price over the standard.

The prestige edition can of course, eat my balls.

I didn't really mean 'crazy' in a critical sense. But for people who were just planning on getting the standard edition, it's something to bear in mind.
