I find it funny that this game series has gone from being a well respected series too a punchbag for the elitist crowd.

I played the original and liked it, with a good crowd mind you. Its just a focus of rage at the moment because its evolved past "a game" into some kind of social commentary, news articles, bit of infamy of player base it attracts, etc, i see it as the sort of cyber bus shelter for late night hang outs, and i hate that kind of stuff. anyway while it does wind me up ill crack it off and not post any more rage.

Just had a mooch around town in my lunch to see what's going on with the various prices and Asda had no stock, Gamestation were charging £45 and CEX were charging £55 for second-hand copies!

They had about 6 or 7 in stock so they must've done a dawn raid on Sainsbury's and are pocketing the £29 profit per copy. Yikes!

Sales on this seem to be crazy. As a person that does not normally buy FPS games besides when I used to play the original Half Life and Halo 2 I`m intrigued is MOW2 really that good?

I'd say yes, it is undeniabley spectacular, though from what ive played so far I cant see it beating Uncharted 2 for best action game of the year or anything, the story is muddled and while its technicaly magnifficent and exhilerating to experience, its certainly not ground breaking in any big way. A few other games this year have probabaly deserved more hype, but its brilliant for what it is.

The problem with MW2 was it had to follow on MW1 which totally raised the bar/exceeded expectations etc so anyone expecting another leap like that would be dissapointed, it's just more of the same in a different setting with a few new weapons and features and spec ops

I don't think they've announced an Arcade release date yet, but I guess it will follow Battlefield 1943 and cost 1,200 Microsoft Points. If you got the Hardened/Prestige Edition the download code will work.

It's a little annoying that the MW2 Elite is only supplied with the standard edition of the game.

The only thing I would have been interested in the other editions is the original Call of Duty download and I knew when I was buying the Elite that it only came with the standard edition but I was always surprised that they didn't stick a code in the box for what will probably be just a ?10 download.

I got one from local sainsburies this morning just before they sold out. The counter staff were telling people the offer will run for the next 5 days, they didn't know when it'd be restocked but they expected it would be before the offer ends.

Chatting with Eurogamer on the camo carpet at the Modern Warfare 2 launch premiere in Leicester Square on Monday night, the hulking British actor, who played Gaz in the original MW, revealed how excited his kids were about his character featuring in a DC Comics series, adding: "They're talking to me about other little spin-offs. I'm just really, really pleased and happy to be a part of it."

Pressed on whether there were more game roles on the horizon, he teased: "They're talking to me about doing some other little bits for this. It's lovely being in Los Angeles being part of this. It's amazing."

As I remarked just this morning on this very forum, Ghost was just a bit of a bad ass character and I'd love to see more of him.
