it doesnt work on normal notes

Got the drums today. Love GH, but this seems a bit bollocks really.

When you hit it, you don't actually hear a drum noise, just a tap from the actual plastic. Anyone else agree, or does it get better?

Seen drum silencers on ebay, has anyone used them?

If so which ones?
