It's annoying PA won't ship that stick standard airmail as using a courier will definately mean customs charges.

PA shipped my Dead or Alive stick airmail a couple of years ago which avoided customs shame they won't do it on this, I would have definately bought one.

I know it sucks doesnt it.

I still have a DOA stick but it's not with me at the moment & I really should get it picked up at some point lol
I'm struggling with the shooters on Pads at the mo & it's horrible
Although that said Death Smiles isnt as bad as the Vert shooters on the Pad so I'm coping with that but Espa & Mushi are hard as nails with the horrid D-Pad

I've picked up a Madcatz TE so have been using that which has been pretty good tbh.

Modded my Madcatz SE with an LS-32-01 and have to say it's a great stick, noticeable improvement for shmups for me.

They are addictive aren't they? Don't need another stick but the artwork on the Mushi and DS2 sticks are lovely so I know I'll cave.

Yep by all accounts comes with an LS-32 same as the Mushi Futari one did.

Oh & yes Neil they are hideously addictive...shame the weak £ means they are so much more expensive then they should be

I use me SFIV TEs for shmups on PS3/360 (bit barren on PS3!).

When I got the first version from PA for the Hori Pro on PS3 that was sent via courier and I didnt pay any duty for some reason and I was expecting it (was when VF5 came out on PS3). I personally prefer the TEs though thats why I sold it and got a 2nd TE for one for each machine.

I love the 100% Seimitsu build of the EX-SE but I do have a soft spot for the Madcatz TE ... much prefer the shape and finish of the casing to that of the HRAP.

Might have to get another one in time for SSFIV if any more of those crazy special offers show up.

Picked myself up a PS3 TE stick for £75. Got some custom plexi made via a guy on SRK.com and changed the buttons.

Very happy with this. Minimal is what I wanted. Along with a rough Namco stick/VSHG colour scheme.

Hopefully as stupid a question as I think it is - but are snap-in buttons fine in a Madcatz SE? Just a bit confused by Gremlin's suggestion that screw-ins are 'ideal for modding a Madcatz Fightstick' and then nothing on the snap-ins. I want PS-14-G buttons damnit!

Also, have anyone found somewhere that will do the equivalent of a Kinkos lami-label in the UK? Tempted to get my TE art done from Tek-Innovations, but short of asking a US mate to call into Kinkos I'm coming up clueless so far.

Snap-ins are perfect. I dunno if Sanwa screw-ins would even fit the Vewlix layout of the SE. Seimitsu screw-ins fit but the Sanwa nut is a little wider than the Seimitsu one.

I couldn't find anywhere to do a Lamilabel in the UK so I just used the laminator at work, just a cheap one you'd get from Staples or somewhere, and used double sided tape to stick it down. I just made sure the back was totally covered in tape and it was all flush so there were no bumps.

Quick question:

I got my DC stick signed by Yoshinori Ono at the SSF4 press event thing a few weeks back. He's signed in the space below the VMU window with a CDR pen (which is basically a permanent marker anyway, as far as I'm aware) and now I'm wondering how to preserve it. The spot it's in means there'll be little to no friction from hands and fingers, but you never know. I was thinking about using a fixing spray or something like that. I suppose it's shot dead any dreams of putting an image on it now, but still. Any ideas?

Snap-ins are fine, and will still fit even with one of those custom plexis. A cynic might think Gremlin are saying the screw-ins are "ideal" because they cost more.

Regarding screw-ins, Sanwa OBSNs will happily fit alongside each other in a JP button layout. The only issue you might have, is that the button nearest the stick (A or X depending on whether 360/PS3) is in such close proximity to the joystick's metal plate, that there's not enough room for the locknut to fit in cleanly. I dunno about the MadCatz one, but that's definitely the case on a HRAP.

With a Sanwa locknut, you need to make it considerably thinner with some sandpaper or a file before it'll fit into the space, it's just too thick otherwise. A Seimitsu locknut is only about half as thick and doesn't need sanded much. In fact, it'll go in unmodded with a bit of force and stay in position, leaving you to screw the button "into" it from the top.

Sir Hoolak, is your plexi the extended version? If so, I'd be interested in your bezel if you're not gonna need it anymore.
