My code worked and I'm downloading it now on my UK PS3, but it would not let me do it using my UK account, which is linked to the e-mail address I had the key sent to, so I used my US account, which is linked to a different e-mail address.

    The beta is 912 MB.

I read the EDGE preview of this, and it sounds much better than the original Bad Company. The engine is being pushed a lot more this time (obviously), but they have now managed to get a really long draw distance working on the maps, with the only thing stopping you seeing to the other end will be environmental effects like dust being kicked up in desert levels, or the trees and grass on more jungle type maps. Bullets are also now calculated in realtime (meaning sniping will be harder as the bullet will drop over long distances like Operation Flashpoint) rather than predetermined; and buildings are a lot more destructable now than what they were in BF 1943.

The closed beta of this was superb, literally had me hooked every night I played it and MW2 was just left sitting there. This wasn't even on my radar, last console BF I played was BF 2 Modern Combat, straight after beta this is a day one for me now.
Conquest is a superb gametype and very well done, bullet drops with the sniper are beautiful to watch when it lands them square in the face, boom headshot indeed.

I was really impressed with this too when I played it. The conquest mode as Fry mentioned was fantastic, I hope it's the main multiplayer mode because it played like a much more focused game of BF but with regular variation as the map changed between zones.

I loved Bad Company online, so can't wait for this.

More single player action throughout this Gametrailers TV episode:

hopefully the single player is the same as before, where things you kill/destroy stay gone even if you die. I liked that touch tho many others didn't...

My most endearing memory of the first game was screaming across the golf course in a small kart whilst being pounded by artillery fire.

I missed the first game, is it worth picking up to play before the sequel releases or will the online be dead by now?

Far from it, i've still loads of mate playing it. Best install it tho, if you can. Single player was awesome.

I will be going back to Bad Company soon, in preparation of BC2. Just takes a while to adjust to the lack of 60fps after playing MW2 for so long.

I've always preferred Battlefield to Modern Warfare, it was always more realistic & epic in scope imo. The weight, feel of the weapons for one has always been better too.

I enjoyed the first game although that last boss was stupid.

The sequel does look a hell of alot better, not that i'm saying the first game wasn't bad at all, it was a pretty game at the time.
