I played a few hours the other night and went into it not expecting much but absolutely loved it.

Seems the general thinking on the game is that the platforming stuff is dull

Seems to be a fair few complaints about it getting repetitive after a while as well.

I'm expecting this to be fairly average game overall, though I'm interested in doing the D/L original too. I expect it'll suffer from the overly miserable streak peeps and reviewers seem to be in lately though leading to overly critical views.

When you've just had a run of games like Portal 2, I can see why a reviewer might be a bit down on the merely average...

Just read up on how they handled the first game after I saw the DL available on Live last night.

The game is launched through the Alice: Madness Returns menu so you can't just purchase the add-on and play it like a normal xbla game. 900 achievement points of Madness and 100 for Alice.

Its basically just an incentive to buy the game new. They have taken it a step beyond having it as a game add on than a seperate game. Think EA missed a trick there, reckon the original game as psn/xbla title would have done them quite well.
