Never trust Australian news sites (or those owned by ex-Australians). Epic fail for 1up and the others that published this story without checking the original site's sources.

It sounds like a PS3 price drop isn't going to happen in the near future.

The sites speculated a PS3 price drop, I don't think anywhere reported it as fact. The only concrete information they had was that there was going to be a 'big' announcement by Sony.
