    360 RPGs?

Having enjoyed playing both Oblivion and Fallout 3 I now find myself at a loss as to what other game to pour my time into.

Have heard mixed things about Lost Odyssey, Infinite Undiscovery and Blue Dragon and am not really sure what to go for. Heres hoping that someone can point me towards a game I will enjoy.

    Cheers

As for Japanese style RPGs on the system, I would rate them in this order, of good to bad...

    Tales of Vesperia
    Lost Odyssey
    Enchanted Arms
    Eternal Sonata
    Blue Dragon

I haven't played Star Ocean IV or Infinite Undiscovery, but considering that I hate tri-Ace games, my opinion probably isn't the best on those two.

If you're looking for games like Fallout 3 or Oblivion, though, I'm not sure there's much else on the 360 for you.

I thought Eternal Sonata was worse than Blue Dragon, even though i preferred the story in ES. It was a huge dull experience to play for me. I was slightly dissapointed by Tales of Vesperia, but its definetly without a doubt the best J-RPG on the console.

If it's Final Fantasy style you're after, then you absolutely need Lost Odyssey.

It's very easy, which makes it rather dull. Playing it on the hardest difficulty makes it a lot more interesting, though, and it's worth another playthrough on that if you haven't before.

Oblivion and Fallout are FPS or First Person Role Players so thiers not much out their to compare really on 360. Bioshock would be the nearest and I guess Mass Effect.

JRPG I adore Last Remnant but its more a strategy RPG.

Wasnt a fan at all of Tales of V same with Infinite Undiscovery but Im not a big fan of wander around hitting things in RPGS I like turn based or semi when I fight and I want my wandering out of combat only.

Blue Dragon and Lost Oddesy would be my seconds after LR and 1 if you want proper old school. Jus make sure you get a Blue Dragon with JPN track and english subtitles as the english track sounds like a 80s badly translated cartoon on breakfast tellie

Two Worlds is probably about the closest to Oblivion. It got fairly bad reviews, but there was a pretty big patch some time after release. Anybody play it? Did the patch improve it any?

If you liked the Final Fantasy games you simply have to play Lost Odyssey, it's a masterpiece and captures some of the same emotion within a game that games like Final Fantasy VII did.

I myself haven't found a single other RPG on the 360 I enjoyed, tried Eternal Sonata and Last Remnant and didn't enjoy either. Will probably try Blue Dragon one day but didn't like what little I played of that either. Enchanted Arms I just couldn't get past teh aesthetic and voice acting in the opening few hours and gave up, but it seemed "okay" if you are desperate.

If you are after a game like Oblivion or Fallout 3 though, I'd go for Mass Effect. Completely different setting but same kind of game.

I thought Last Remnant stank personally.

Eternal Sonata plays well, but the plot is very poor. And I couldn't get past my dislike of Toriyama art with Blue Dragon to find out if it improved after it's poor first few hours.

I'd recommend Lost Odyssey if you're after a FF experience - it isn't amazing but it's certainly worth playing and will give you a good 40-60 hours

I've got Last Remnant on the PC, i've hardly played it yet. But it definetly loves to make itself look over complicated.

Seems like Lost Odyssey is the game to get. There is quite a bit of hype surrounding Tales of Vesperia so I am looking forward to that and the new Final Fantasy when that is finally released

Don't skip the dream sequences! The stories are nicely penned and the music top drawer.
