Another vote saying skip Eternal Sonata, it looks lush and has a intriguing storyline but becomes very dull. It still sits on my shelf unfinished.

I thought I was the only one who didn't like Eternal Sonata. It looked lovely, as others have said, but it really was quite dull to play. Boring, empty dungeons, and the combat didn't have any real hook to it.
It was also heavy on cutscenes and they were dreadful, to say the least. Real cringe-worthy stuff.

I found both Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon to be tedious bores.
I really really enjoyed Enchanted Arms once I got past a couple of characters and their cringey voices (you can always switch to JPN voices) it's a really nice lengh and whilst not the most original story in the RPG world is still entertaining enough. I also did enjoy Etneral Sonata (Beautiful visuals, beautiful music and co-op)Last edited by EvilBoris; 28-04-2009, 23:27.

star ocean...i thought was ok....just has to many little things that just brought the game down in my books (irritating characters....lots of grinding....difficulty spikes...lots of roaming with no warps to get to certain areas quickly) rpg in my book....personally didnt find it as good as the ps2 game
Lost odessey and blue dragon i just thought were average....i mean it was just nothing new at all

go for lost odyssey. second game i played on my 360 after soulcalibur and i loved what i played of it. unfortunately i then got my hd box pro back so went back to playing the wii. turned it on a while ago and some rocks were rolling down a hill and killing me so i turned it off. i really need to get back to it though.
ive got eternal sonata also which from what i played looks fantastic. just a really really beautiful game. combat didnt do much for me though so i left it for another time.

Lost Oddessy is good, though it isnt quite up to the standard of most final fantasy games.
It also becomes incredabley annoying when you havent foiund a save point for two hours and need to turn the game off becuase some random event that you need to happen wont happen...
Besides that its good though yeah...

Lost Oddysee did look pretty good though not got around to playing yet.
Eternal Sonata though was awful, I cannot believe we are still getting such dull and empty games like this nowadays especially if you compared it to something like Grandia which i have just put on my PSP and its so amazing still.
Hope you enjoy L.O.

Thread necromancy alert!
I am contemplating a new RPG but am not sure what to go for. I have already finished Enchant Arms, Tales of Vesperia, and Lost Odyssey, and have got un-touched copies of Blue Dragon & Trusty Bell.
I can already see that Trusty Bell is not popular amongst the masses here, and from a brief dabble I wasn't too mad on Blue Dragon either.
Of the other RPGs that are around, which are worth considering? From a quick think there's Magna Carta 2, Star Ocean IV, Infinite Undiscovery, and The Last Remnant... any others I'm missing? If it's any help I have both PAL and JPN consoles.
