I have the feeling MS just silently launched the new generation. If i'm not mistaken, every 360 will be sold with Kinect included in the near future. The press conference seemed to point out that MS is giving core games (and gamers) the finger. At least their internal studios won't be working on that anymore iirc.

Its almost the same as with the previous Xbox console, difference is now that you only have to upgrade to Kinect.

That's not going to happen. The GB guys said the new console has 'compatible with Kinect' on the box, which certainly indicates there will be separate bundles.

There's also the fact that Gamestop has listed Kinect at $149, which makes it FAR too expensive to be a required pack-in.

Doesn't what they're doing with XBox right now remind anyone of the last couple of years of the PS2's life? I loved the original XBox and MS dropped it so bloody quick once their 360 was ready. I never really forgave them for that. Sony have never done that to me... yet.

From what I seen we will need a room with lot of space. So it won't work well in UK Bedroom.

Digital Foundry has a two page article on the technology behind Kinetc.

They say that the minimum lag (without display lag) is 100ms, with more lag introduced when Kinetc traces the depth map and/or voice commands.

There's also the fact that Gamestop has listed Kinect at $149, which makes it FAR too expensive to be a required pack-in.

An Italian store listed it for 199 euros (!), but the listing became available shortly after the first 189$ rumor started, I really hope that it will be 150$ max...still no real interest in the games shown though.

Surely there's a reason why they didn't announce the price at the conference. They'll be looking at what Sony and Nintendo announce, the general reception of the masses and price accordingly
