Like I said earlier, the key thing for me is support. If on release there are patches for Burnout Paradise, Forza 3 and Blur for head tracking, some cool gesture stuff for Rock Band 3, motion support for Viva Pi?ata and the mini games in RDR, plus some interesting original stuff then I'll probably get one.

If however there is just some pack in mini game collection and a promise of more to come, then I'll hold off.

If the price is ?100, I'd guess that they haven't taken one of the processing chips out as was rumoured?

Latest rumour is that it's going to be called `Wave`

Hmm cos that worked out well for Google!

I would pay £100+ for it if there is some amazing games worth buying it for.

I've spent £300 on a ps3 TWICE just to play 2 games that were exclusive, if the right game is there then it could be just as alluring

Given the prices people pay for a pack of toy plastic instruments that are only compatible with a few games of one genre I really don't get the backlash. Wasn't Rock Band 150 when released?

                Exactly what I was thinking

I'd read that this was possible due to the fact that they had removed the hardware chip & instead were to use software to cut the cost of production.
If MS cant deliver at ?50 then why was this price announced? Surely you're just shooting yourself in the foot by announcing such a low price then doubling it at a later date?
Oh. I hadn't realised any prices had been announced by MS yet.

I lost some interest when they announced they were removing its processor and handing over those tasks to the 360's CPU.

Can that really apply with Natal though, taking into account the target audience of this thing?

If we use history as a lesson. How many consoles over the years have seen peripherals/add-ons released for them? And how many of those proved wise investments? None that I can think of. Not that that necessarily spells Natal's eventual doom, but I certainly believe it's the most likely eventuality.

If Natal is as succesful and (most importantly) as good as something like Rock Band then there will be no backlash.

Was just about to post the same thing, Natal and Rockband (and the host of other plastic crap out there) is not the same thing.

People (myself included) are baulking at the price because all we've really seen of it so far is that muppet Kudo's avatar spazzing out, some woman waving herself around like she's on fire, a crappy paint app and some pre-orchestrated video which allows you to groom a young boy.

Right now people are just seeing the rumours on price and putting it together with what little we know to come to a conclusion. That's perfectly natural. If E3 rolls around and we're all blown away, then as Jebus says there won't be a backlash.

Rumble Pak was first, and actually was an add on peripheral, not just a pad revision.
