    Games TM 84

    Cover: Mass Effect 2

    Features: ME2 Preview

    An interview with BioWare's founders

    Stereotyping in Gaming

    Platinum Games (about Bayonetta)

How much do games mess with our heads?

    Reviews:

    Sims 3 -

    Punch-out! -

8/10 ("what a retro revival should be")

    Velvet Assassin -

    Red Faction: Guerilla -

7/10 ("exciting and mundane all at once")

    inFamous -

7/10 (reads more like a 5 or - at a push - 6. **** animation, buggy, unfinished, would be better served by waiting for Prototype. The Edge 7 read in a way that made me BUY the game - attention, score Nazis - but the text in this one is extremely harsh. Overly so.)

    Ghostbusters -

7/10 ("rough around the edges but highly entertaining)

    Fuel -

6/10 ("engaging addition to a crowded genre")

    UFC 2009 Undisputed -

8/10 (as good a starting point as can be expected)

    Virtua Tennis 2009 -

6/10 (fun but too similar to the others)

    Battlestations: Pacific -

    7/10 (solid but unspectacular)

Star Ocean: The Last Hope -

6/10 (standard game, nice battle system)

    Rittai Picross -

    8/10 ("dangerously addictive brain workout")

    ExciteBots: Trick Racing -

    8/10 ("works brilliantly")

    Zeno Clash -

    8/10 ("engrossing and unique")

    Worms 2: Armageddon -

    Fallout 3: Broken Steel - 8/10

    ("better than previous DLC")

The Mass Effect 2 preview is largely based on what EA/Bioware were showing at E3, but its still an interesting read.

It's XBLA, with a DD PC version coming later in the year. Mac and PSN versions may also appear at some point.

What's the point of the recent trend for adding spoiler tags to review scores? Seems ridiculous to me.

same question from me regarding spoilering the scores

have to say I'm finding this mag in general a bit boring now ( I have all issues in a pile since launch so given it a fair crack).

for me Edge does current gaming far better and Retro Gamer covers the old stuff, this is a bit irrelevent now and reckon I'm going to let my sub go, just don't find enough to read in it anymore.

Seems pretty straightforward. Some people's first enjoyment of the mag is when you get a shiny new copy and browse the review scores for the first time. The glossy pages, the screen grabs, the oomph of the score. If you've already read the list on a forum it skanks the impact.

I cant belive the inFAMOUS score, its the best game on the PS3 and one of the best games thats been realsed all year on any platform really.

                        They are mad....

Seriously? Surely they're better off avoiding the thread in the first place.

We'll be spoilering every word in every thread at this rate

Good score on Worms 2. Take it this now comes with a decent amount of weapons, unlike the first Live version, which I assume was limited at the time by the size constraints. Will be great playing this, and they've finally incorporate the flames which made the PC versions so enjoyable (missing in EVERY console iteration to date, I believe).
