    I really don't think it's needed.

Anyone who gets upset by having a review scored "ruined" for them needs a lot of help

Spoilers should be for stuff like, "Vadar is Lukes DAD!" [waits for the "You bastard you've ruined it for me!" post]. Not a score on a magazine.

Next we'll be spoilering game genres. Because someone may have a preconception if they know game XXXX is a FPS, and that will ruin the experience for them

The next person to start a mag thread needs to post all the scores in font size 7, and in rainbow colours.

Well it's clearly a very fammyDodd issue, so why not?

It seems you're getting wound up about something of incredibly little consequence. If a thread is just a list of scores, then there's no point in spoiler-tagging the scores, but if a thread contains a great deal of other information (namely, a contents list) then they can inform without spoiling.

If you get in early and start threads, feel free to leave them off. I very much doubt anyone cares strongly either way.

No mate, it's not winding me up in the slightest. I find it amusing. The trend started a few months back and I was just asking "Why?" Then the response amused me, people's enjoyment of a mag being ruined by knowing the scores beforehand. LOL My sense of humour I guess

Well I was browsing the site earlier on my iPod Touch and I couldn't see the scores because you can't highlight with that browser. Like Chain, I must admit to finding the idea of scores being spoilered really quite amusing. I mean, they're spoiler marked and yet you totally ruined the surprise I would have had when I opened the magazine and found there was a Bioware interview. Hardly worth me even bothering with the mag now.

I think there's only 2 gamestm threads with the scores tagged. The first one i went back and did it because of some guy's joke about spoilering the scores after an argument over text vs numbers in an Edge thread. As far as I can tell this is the only other thread with them spoilered. Hardly an avalanche of irrationality.

I should add that I don't give a toss about knowing scores before getting the mag. It was simple speculation on my part about the spoiling the surprise thing (and reading something similar on another forum to that effect ages ago). It's the only reason I can think of, and it does seem a bit random.

                      LOL

Actually, yeah, I tend to browse the site on my mobile phone these days (not right now though), and that's why the spoilers have been more noticeable to me. I have to click Quote to see the original post.

I had that problem too, just quote the post if you want to see any spoilered information.

I personally don't mind either way about spoilering scores, I do find it strange how people can be amused though from people responses. You guys have strange humour.

Mate, my sense of humour is wasted on this forum

Retro Gamer > any magazine you can think of

                              GamesTm > Edge

These are the undisputable constants of the universe, along with G.

GamesTM likes Ghostbusters too. Onto my Amazon wishlist it goes.

Does anyone else find that japanese correspondent guy Tim Rogers' articles a little disturbing..? It reminds me of the writer for Edge a long while back who was running out of ideas and kept getting drunk with each article.
