I did like the DS games which it does favor, really as you would expect. To me it doesnt seem to be running as fast though. Like smurf said i expect its a early build and thats why there seems to be a few problems with the landscape. Really looking forward to this.

Urgh it's made by dimps, this puts me off because while they're not bad developers I didn't really care for the DS games or daytime stages on Unleashed...

Unless I'm missing something, the reason Sonic 4 looks so good is because the game is clearly much closer to the original games in terms of pace and structure, fixing the 'just hold right' structure that made Rush/Advance so mediocre. Are they nuts?

I can see some slight tiny bit of merit to their madness. Yes, the level design looks closer to the original. But it is using the Sonic Rush Sonic and seemingly the speed, floatiness and physics that go with it. And that simply won't work.

I just played through Sonic 1 and 2 in the last week and the one huge thing the Sonic 4 footage was missing was a Sonic that handles the way Sonic should for level design of that type.

It's possible they're looking at Sonic himself and that's where the Sonic Rush HD perception came from.

I think it's funny, and I quite like how it's a different kind of protest. If it was just another petition it probably wouldn't get as much publicity. It could've gone the route of the DMC4 and FF13 boycotts, but I hope it doesn't.

Besides, if they all go out and buy Sonic 1, not only will they make a statement but they might freakily give Sega enough money to 'fix' Sonic 4 (inverted commas because I'm still reserving judgement until I've played it myself so don't feel it should be 'fixed' yet).

Hope they do work on the physics a bit. Sonic Rush's physics weren't meant for slower platforming. They actually break quite a bit if you slow down.

Some more details:

4 zones each with 3 acts. Pretty much invalidates the 'each game is as long as a MD sonic game thing' thing unless the levels are incredibly long and drawn out. Makes it about 1/2-1/3rd the length of a regular sonic game.

Game isn't 3D but pre-rendered sprites.
