Nearly there!
The game will be available for download on the iTunes App Store starting Oct. 7, the Wii Shop Channel on Oct. 11 (15th Oct in EMEA territories), the PlayStation Network on Oct. 12 in America (Oct 13th in EMEA territories), and Xbox Live Arcade on Oct. 13 across all territories.
Sonic 4 will be priced at 1500 Wii Points on WiiWare, 1200 Microsoft Points on Xbox Live Arcade, and $14.99 / ?9.99 / ?12.99 / AU$19.95 on the PlayStation Network.
Looking good. Think I'll get it for the 360 and iOS. The recent videos of the Casino themed level looked great.

As more has been revealed of this it's really starting to look like Sonic Colors is the more appealing title. I was quite hyped at first but now we have a green hill zone, a casino zone and a ruins zone. They couldn't have been less adventurous. I'm way too tired of the series cribbing off Sonic 2.

1200 points is way too much for a game thats been split up into increments, it really depends if the game has enough content to warrent the price. But its looking highly unlikely. Especially when titles such as DR: Case 0 cost 400pts.

It depends how big this game is. Even though it's episodic, I'd hope it would at least have the same amount of zones as the average 16-bit Sonic title. That would be worth £9.99/1200msp/etc. in my book. If it's episodic in the sense of containing 1/3 of a game, then that's pretty cheeky.

This is a lot like SFIV. A sequel long overdue and doesn't feel like something completely new. Where SFIV simply had the SF2 cast, Sonic 4 seems to have the Sonic 1 stages. I think its lazy.
And Episodic, its lame. Like: 'Yeah fans, here we have the sequel you've all been waiting for... Sonic 4!!!
Episode 1...'
But to be fair Episode 1 has about 15 levels and with that sounds like its about as long as classic Sonic. Also, lets not forget that Sonic 3 was episodic and did cost about 60 bucks each.

^That would actually make it larger than Sonic 3 (without Sonic & Knuckles) if you add up the individual acts. I'm more concerned about how it plays - it could contain 100 zones, but if it's more like the Advance/Rush games than the 16-bit games in terms of gameplay and structure, then I'd find it hard to feel too excited.

Problem I had with Rush is that its design was so brainless. Sonic 2's (and the other classics too, but 2's design slightly edges them out I think) level design and the need to build up momentum is really brilliant. Rush was pretty much a straightforward affair without much imagination. A bit better than Sonic Advance, but still mediocre compared to the classics.
Sonic 1 Master System was really brill too by the way.
