First screens from the Wii version, barring the resolution it's effectively identical

Hopefully those shots are just badly resized but there is horrible aliasing on those images.

According to Nintendo it's Full HD on the Wii too!

Remain optimistic about this. Three possible issues:

                  -Seems a bit zoomed in
-level designs based around the homing attacks
-signs of possible bottomless pit spam in vid 4

I cant stand the way he moves and his animation in general. The way his legs move are poor and so inferior to the old style where his legs would become a circular blur and he would tuck his arms in. The levels also dont look anything special.

In my opinion this is just going to be Sonic Rush (which was over rated) on consoles in HD.

What on earth is up with the camera view in this? It's too zoomed in for my tastes plus why is Sonic about 60% of the way across the screen? I'm not really sure how you're supposed to react to what's coming if you can't even see what's ahead....

yeah, it's so zoomed in that you pretty much have no chance of seeing anything coming up.

Definately has the wonky Sonic Rush physics. Sonic runs like he has glue on his shoes and weighs 20g.

Yeah the run looks weird and the jump just looks like he's pulled along by magnets. I quite like the look of it though, still 100x better than previous sonic games of this generation

This is going to kill it for me. I so hope they change this (they won't, will they?). So much of it looks right. It looks so close to great. I can still hope, right?

Whats up with the cart level? (vid 5) Oh dear
Sonic looks ok when hes doing anything but running. I don't think this is gonna be the Sonic 4 weve been waiting for.

^I'd say that's one thing they appear to have done right, toned down the mindless speed a bit and made it much closer to the 16-bit games, which were always quite non-linear.

The physics are definately broken though, and the homing attack is unwelcome. It was arguably necessary with the 3D titles due to the difficulty of accurately 'aiming' jumps in 3D, but bouncing on top of a series of baddies in the original was a real skill.
