I rarely put the amount of time I should into fighters (I tend to get them for the character designs >.&lt but this has totally drawn me in. Hours spent trying to master the intricacies of Jam and I-Nos' moves ... so many modes ... the most beautiful packaging ... yum...

SSX Tricky (J-PS2)
I love an EA game. Am I a traitor to my kind ?

Wild ARMs 3 (PAL PS2)
RPG of the moment. Rescued this from a bargain bin and it rewarded me with a 60hz mode ~ first time I've ever seen one on a PAL RPG ...
The original Wild ARMs was the first RPG I ever played on the PSX, and the similarities in design fill me with nostalgia. I'm enjoying the almost-a-puzzle-game dungeons very much, but I find the combat system a little sleep-inducing after the tension-filled battles of a game like FFX ...

Resident Evil 2 (PAL PSX)
Recently, I ... ahh ... met a girl. Now, I'd had her back to my place a few times, but - as you do - the subject of games was tactfully avoided. However one day, I chanced to find her glancing through the piles - and so I sheepishly asked if there was anything she'd ... maybe like to play ?
It seems she was wondering if I was ever going to ask ^^. Turns out that the dear thing had completed Biohazard back in Japan and had always wanted to play the rest of the series, and so ... Resi 2 was order of the day.
This has been a lovely experience for me ... sitting back, watching her play - helping out with the dialogue (her English isn't perfect) - has enabled me to view the game in a whole new light.
Plans are afoot for MGS and Phantasy Star G1 next. I'm a lucky, lucky guy.
