Probably the 360 launch day for me too. Nothing else has really stood out for me beyond that, nothing that "broke the mould"

Once I got my first taste of next gen, that was it for me.

MGS4. When, after watching the intro it seemed to just stop... and I Picked up the controller and I was Snake. Knowing, right then that the graphical quality of the entire game would equal the opening cinematic was just incredible.

        My Magical Moments would be

Lost Planet - The 1st time you see that HUGE worm , made my jaw drop .

GRAW - The 1st Helicoper ride , and when that Huge building blows up .

Gears Of War II - Near the end of the game , when you're flying on that creature . That hole section is jaw dropping and so much fun .

Dead Rising - The intro section , when you take control of the camera .

Killzone II - All of it .

Half Life II - Ep II - Some of the most breathtaking views and lighting effects I've ever seen .

Sonic Unleashed - The 1st level playing at full speed is breath takeing .

VF 5 - Eileen real-time intro , is still jaw dropping , and one of the best character models , I've ever seen .

Mario Galaxy - Looks and plays out of this world

It has to be Oblivion on 360 for me. Stepping out of that sewer for the first time!

Absolutely agreed, that was just too good. My moment of the current gen so far as well.

                The 'holy wowzer' one
Call of Duty 2. Made me think wow, we've moved forward here.

                The 'magical' one
Has to be Mario Galaxy. Pure magic from the first moment you blast off through the stars.

All of Uncharted. Simply amazing and the only game this gen that I've sat and played from start to finish in a day.

Boku no Natsuyasumi 3. So much character and charm, almost makes you want to be in the game.

Pro Yakuu Spirits 4. Huge baseball fan so seeing this for the first time just made my jaw drop. The character models and movement on them is just amazing.

Bioshiock. Stepping into Rapture for the first time is a great moment. The style and atmosphere is spot on.

Fallout 3. All of it! 140+ hours is a testament to how absorbing the game is.

Burnout Paradise. Sout Bay Expressway in an 8 player race going full speed into oncoming traffic is a real buzz.

Dead Rising for me. Everything from the intro to the shear number of zombies and the ways to kill them.

A close second was Ninja Gaiden 2. Magic from start to finish and every moment was over the top. What all videogames should make you feel!

                    EDIT:

Also just remembered Test Drive on the Xbox 360. The demo to that blew my mind. Everyone driving around where they wanted to doing anything they liked. I formed a wee posse with 2 other guys on motorbikes and we were trying to find massive jumps around the map, and this was all in the demo!

Uncharted on the PS3, it was a joy to play, and so pretty. It was one of them magical Christmas time moments when i had nothing better to do than laze about stuffing my face and playing this game.......... Sigh..........

Wii Sports on the Wii, it was a sucha nifty idea for a party game........... Id never played a game in such a way before and it put a huowge smile on my face.

Don't own a 360, but playing Dead Rising on my mates machine made me very jealous like a young child, and a part of me 'wished' i could take it home to play with, at my leisure.......

So we have feelings of nostalgia, sharing and jealousy all experienced on different consoles......... all traits of child like state, maybe backing all the horses does have its benefits.........

I agree with the choice of game, but as it's supposed to be first play moments then I wouldn't pick the Prague section.

Nevertheless, the opening act with the Gekko's in the middle east was just a total assault on the senses, and the moment that marked the 'next gen' beginning for me. When I tried to hide upstairs in a house and one of them jumped up and followed me it just blew my mind lol

Mario Galaxy - all of it but especially when the Gusty Gardens music kicks in for the first time.

Call Of Duty 4 - The whole of the sniper mission.

Fall out 3 - First time you leave the vault and walk to the 'viewing point'

Playing the 4-player co-op demo of Lost Planet 2 the other day, it struck me just how much we take for granted. I mean, I was zipping around blasting a humongous salamander with 4 random people from around the world! The salamander's not even the biggest boss in the game!

Some of the impressive moments I remember include:
Walking around my showroom full of gleaming cars and taking photos of places I recognised in PGR3

Giant worm attack in Lost Planet.

Zombies as far as the eye can see and using everything that's not nailed down to take 'em out in Dead Rising.

Tanks driving overhead whilst ambushing a building in CoD2 was so cinematic.

Four friends leaping into choppers and whatever transport they could after rescuing the mafia boss from the airport in the GTAIV co-op levels.

Very true, when I saw how fluidly it went from cutscene into actual game play I almost filled my pants with awe.
