Asda (in-store) have put the price back up to ?217 for the Wifi version (from ?197). Is demand THAT high?

Had a play on one in a shop at weekend. Analog sticks felt horrid. Like they were worn out like a well used N64 controller. I mean, if they feel like that new that's badl if they wear out that quick that's bad. Is it just a case of getting used to them? The 3ds pad felt better to me.

I agree with you. First impressions when playing Unit 13 were not good. Re-positioning my slipping thumbs etc. However, I have gotten used to them, so much that I don't tend to think about them any longer.

Which shop? I've been in many that sell them and never, ever seem one in the wild. Sony always fail on this. I could play a 3DS a few weeks before launch in a small Argos on the outskirts of town.

Agree about the sticks, the one flaw of the hardware for me. Should have gone with slide pads as they do feel better on the 3ds, if not the most grippy.

I just dont get how hard it can be to make a good analogue stick.

Lol I simply cannot remember which shop! When I was typing I went to type in the name of the shop and STOP PRESS! it was HMV. I just remembered. I went in to get a Zola Jesus album and had a quick play there. It was on the end with all the android tablets.

Ok, so you get used to the sticks? Not sure what i was expecting really. I think I just imagined holding a dual shock.

I really like the sticks, much more so than the 3DS slide pad. I've been to 3 HMVs and all have had demo Vitas

You do get used to the analogue sticks in fairness. They do feel too small at first and less precise than the 3DS slidepad, but you do adjust to them.

If I had a critisism of the hardware, it would be the speaker placement - right under your hands! Should have been underneath the screen.

what i really like about the vita is when i am playing say marvel vs capcom 3 i can press the ps button to pause it at any time press the power button to go to standby mode and then come back later on and its hardly drained any charge at all

I really like the sticks personally. I'm also not too bothered about the lack of games on the horizon, as it'll give me plenty of time to properly play the games I already own. Also, I've got back into PSP gaming, what with its lovely screen and the extra stick option. I've taken advantage of UMD Passport.

I've not taken to PSP gaming on the Vita sadly, much prefer the way they look on my Go and its luverly bright and sharp screen. With the Vita, the screen size picks up the imperfections far easier and the bi-linear filter has so far made no discernible difference to either of the two games I have on it (Assassin's Creed and Sid Meier's Pirates). Obviously there's the draw of the second stick moving the camera, but all games need to support it, and only a small selection do

Each to their own I suppose - I think PSP games look cracking on the Vita. Not only because of the higher quality screen, but because the scaling is excellent - the fact that the screen resolution is exactly 2x that of the PSP means there are no scaling artifacts or softening of the image whatsoever, just a pixel-perfect image.

It's a fair point that this probably results in highlighting the visual imperfections with some games, however.

Tis a lovely piece of kit. Best thing is I can play great looking games, online with twin analog sticks, earning trophies and not get in trouble with missus for disappearing to my gaming den too much. I'll be right next to her while she watches Holby or if she gets an early night... I'll be there. With my glorious Vita.

                              That should be the advert.

Yeah, so what if I'm not gaming on the move. I'm finding a more fitting reason to pack this around the house.
