I did think this when Shozuki wrote it!

That said, it seems to me that Nintendo pinned all their hopes on this one thing. For Ghost Recon (the only game I bought at launch) I was amazed by the tech but I found that for any game featuring real-time gameplay the 3d was unusable and had to be switched off. That left me with a heavy DS with a terrible battery life and a somewhat clunky design :-(

      I rest my case...

FSW's experience is a shame but it does not represent everyone. I think the 3D looks fantastic and now thankfully works with some excellent games, like Mario 3D Land and the likes of downloadable titles like Zen Pinball. You can call it poorly implemented if you like and yet it's still the only system that has it which, again, makes it far from uninteresting tech. The system has other issues, like the unacceptable battery life, but it has that one unique feature, which is one more than many other systems have had. And of course it's building on the DS which was interesting enough to have most people (including me) think WTF? when it was announced. So, really, I'm just thinking something along the lines of... Shozuki be trollin'

I imagine the power drain on the Vita is all to do with the quad core cpu, gpu, multiple touch inputs, gyro etc. I'm just speculating mind, I don't know.
Not sure about 70-80%, think it is more like 50%ish. Basically, similar to Plasma tech, dark images uses less power and bright images will suck up more. So depending on the game or movie, you will always get a different result, with the battery life.

Precisely, even without the 3D you're left with a more powerful handheld that is the same design as a DS (which many hold as the greatest handheld ever) but with more features and grunt, hardly poor. There's only the battery that's outright poor and the Vita's battery being an hour longer doesn't mean it's suddenly not a crap charge.

Both probably have equal faults and pro's in their favours overall.

When it comes to the inevitable Vita Vs. 3DS debate, I can't help but feel that it's the same old ****e again. The 3DS, while weaker in terms of specs compared to the Vita , has a far better software lineup. Mario Land 3D, Mario Kart 7 & Monster Hunter Tri G piss all over whatever the Vita has to offer at the moment. As much as I like my Vita, I'm left wondering, "Where's my Wipeout & DJ Max?" In my humble opinion, 3DS is the best handheld system to own, without a doubt.

It's all perspective isn't it? You see a decent line up, I see overpriced iOS games, though still fun if the machine was actually enjoyable to use. Sadly though it's not ... Course that's my opinion but I'm entitled to it.

comparing Vita to 3DS is waste of time, period.

Gravity Rush has been confirmed as PSN only for EU.
With the PlayStation Vita launch in Japan last weekend and the PAL launch in February next year we hope your anticipation levels are building nicely. Today we're happy to bring you a couple of pieces of PS Vita news, starting with confirmation that your PlayStation Vita will come bundled with six AR Play Cards and [...]

Also no 32gb memory card for EU, probably because it would cost 69.99 or something as crazy as that.
Also RRP pricing for games too, no psn prices as of yet.

I'm still debating on what second game to get, still stuck on ModNation or Wipeout. Already getting Uncharted as a given. Any opinions?

I would imagine Wipeout is a safe bet, although most would've said the same for Ridge Racer too. Until the games are actually out in the wild I doubt you'll get anything other than wild speculation.

There was me thinking I'll get a 4gb card with my system and grab a cheap 32gb card when it launches here - balls. From what I've heard, Gravity Daze is one of the most interesting titles for the system; pretty ****ty that it's not getting a disc release in the EU. And as a third "lol SCEE" matter, what the hell is a portable charger and why the hell is it ?49.99?

The vita game lineup is much more appealing to me than 3ds. Wipeout, ninja gaiden, uncharted.

It's a shame Sony want to stiff everyone on accessory pricing again though.
