Is it just me, or is the 3G version the 'idiot edition'? I imagine most PSVita owners will have a smart phone they're aready paying for that could get the wifi version online, or you could get a wireless pointer for the price difference, and then be able to get other stuff online as well. Am I missing something here? If not, I think anyone considering the 3G version should reconsider, if it was free 3G like with the 3G Kindle then it'd make sense perhaps, but not if you have to pay for it.Comment

You might want to consider getting one of these and a wifi version instead, you could use it to get your 3DS etc online as well and it'd only be ?10 more. Plus I heard there was a 20MB download limit through 3G on the Vita, which surely can't exist for wifi?

This leads to a sticky predicament in terms of how best to create a PSN account for Vita. I had planned on using my UK account to allow for Trophy alignment. Based on PSP and it's inability to allow account switching then waiting for the UK version of RR makes more sense but then again.Originally posted by mingo View Post

Bah. I really, really want one of these - absolutely loved getting on a plane two days after the PSP release in Japan and watching the look of envy on the face of the kid sitting next to me as he had a Gameboy Color (not even a DS or Advance) and I fired up Ridge Racers.
But having agreed to limit money to be thrown down the drain (which is what the wife considers money spent on games to be), it looks like it will be a year or so. I do hope there's a good price cut by then.Comment

Maybe 2 days after the Jap Vita release you'll be sitting next to that kid again, but this time he'll have a Vita and you'll be stuck with your PSP.Comment

Look on the bright side though you would be playing Ridge Racers 2 at 60fps with 62 cars and 42 tracks and he would be playing Ridge Vita with at 30fps with 3 tracks and 5 cars, that will get boring pretty fast.Comment

Well, from the first party list the only ray of temptation would be Uncharted which isn't doing much to sway me from thinking it's best to wait till the certain price cut. Too many corners are being cut in some of the other games though Ridge Racer takes the cake epically. No-one, and I mean no-one, should shell out for that.Comment
